Women also live ten years longer than men. Men die 17 times more often in on-the-job accidents. Men are 90% of the homeless. Men are 98% of the casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan. We spend 300% more on breast cancer research than prostate cancer research (probably because it's more fun to look at one than the other) even though the mortality rates are almost even. Compare the suicide rates … the murder rates, the unemployment rates (the job loss in this recession is mostly MEN).

re: the article…women do put up with a lot more b*llsh*t than men, that is for sure. But mixing 'labor pains' in with 'shimmying into a tight dress' has got me scratching my head as to what your definition of 'tough' is.

So, just to address the title… There are also women who can't want in stilletos. It's a matter of learning how to walk in them, not a matter of toughness. Also, we have the good sense not to wear shoes that hurt our feet.
