try having a wellness center turned into a dorm since it's "more important" and having a quack "doctor" misdiagnose you so badly your throat closes and then have to find a ride to the hospital. all in under 24 hours.

hopefully you other people had more caring roommates than I did in college.

I was in bed with the worst case of stomach flu I'd had in ages, accompanied with fever, and all they did was spray my bed (with me in it) with anti-bacterial and head out for a night of partying.

Nothing beats mom's care when you're sick.

Just the other week I had similar symptoms, but went to all my classes and stayed busy because I didn't want to get behind. Finally after the week was over I spent the weekend not being able to eat or move, I went to the ER because health services wasn't open. They ended up keeping me for 4 days for dehydration, fevers of 104, not to mention all of the bloodwork and CT scans and x-rays they did after my flu test came out negative. Turns out it was a virus. If you feel sick I highly recommend getting it checked out ASAP and see if there are any clinics or hospitals nearby that might do a better job with taking care of you. Getting sick definitely blows.

Last year(as Thanksgiving) I was misdiagnosed 4 times by my student health services from the flu, strep throat, to pneumonia and then shingles, only to come to find out in the ER I had mono. The ER doctor spent 10 minutes lecturing me that I should have seen a doctor after being put on 3 different pain meds and antibiotics and still suffered for a week with a fever of 103 and higher.

i HATE Student Health services, but now I don't have health insurance so it's the only thing I can afford. I'm on a first name basis now with all of the PAs and doctors, along with the nurses and receptionists after all of my now weekly visits due to some unknown skin reaction.'

Totally understand that. Last semester I ended up with a mild case of pneumonia and had to do a last minute five-hour trip home to see a real doctor because it turns out my insurance doesn't cover me out of state, where I go to school. Fun times, being sick in college.

totally agree! They need to make the health center closer to the dorms/on-campus apts.
