From StyleBakery: 3 New Denim Brands You Should Know

Finding jeans that fit and look great can be nearly impossible, so when you find a brand to trust it’s a good idea to stick with it. But these up-and-coming brands are a good reason to hit the dressing rooms again:

1. Genetic – These jeans are soft and will fit your body like a glove. They are also a good length, so unless you are very short you probably won’t have to get them hemmed. Just a tip – Genetic jeans run a little big and stretch out, so order a size smaller if you are unsure.

2. Fidelity – This brand was made to make your legs look good, and they’re already a hit with stars like Vanessa Hudgens and Courteney Cox. They come in different fabrics to fit your body and  sophisticated, modern cuts including skinny, wide leg, and boyfriend (plus if you’re tall you can find extra-long styles).

3. Dylan George –  This brand is well-known in Hollywood for perfecting the distressed skinny jeans. The skinny styles have been spotted on Ashley Tisdale, Eva Longoria, and Nicole Richie, to name a few.

…because I have nothing better to spend 200 dollars on… Clearly, author, you are not slaving away for 16 bucks an hour.

I’m the author & I make $8 per hour actually, working in retail. These are up and coming brands you should know – just like designers like Jason Wu and Alexander Wang are. I’m not expecting you to go out and buy 10 pairs, but many, many college students own designer denim and these are some different brands they should consider beyond 7 For All Mankind and True Religion. This post is about designer denim brands. If you want to save, head to Marshall’s or Filene’s Basement since they always have jeans on sale.

If it is about DESIGNER denim you should change the title of this post to reflect that. Also, I am glad I am not the only fashionista who had problems spending $165 dollars on ONE pair of jeans. Thank goodness other COLLEGEcandy readers have some common senese about their spending habits :)

I was scared by the pricetags too, but many fashion experts say jeans are one of the best items of clothing to splurge on. It’s the whole cost per wear thing, take the price of an article of clothing and divide it by the number of times you think you’ll wear it. So technically, these jeans can end up costing you less than a formal dress since you’ll use them more!

So while the prices are on the reeeally high end for most college students, it’s not totally unreasonable. Especially for a girl like me, who has a hard time finding jeans that fit perfectly.
