Trust me ugly people abound and they mate with each other. It's definitely based on whats around vs. looks and brains. I also think it's harder for ugly people until they reach adulthood in rural places. By a certain point people are ready to settle for anything and people also have settled into their adult looks, for better or worse. To explain that you don't look the same when your 24 as you did when you graduated. I agree with the study, it's not being mean or cruel, it's just stating the obvious.
