CC Beauty Live: Storage Solutions

It’s hard to stay organized (and beautiful!) when you’re living in the cramped quarters typical of college towns. You barely have enough room for your clothes in most dorms or apartments and without a bathroom to call your own, it’s nearly impossible to store all that makeup you brought along with you. But with a little creativity and a few key pieces, anyone can find a place to keep their makeup, and keep it clean.

Today, I’m showing you how I store my all of my makeup and giving you some other great organizational ideas as well.

If you’ve got some extra space and looking for major storage, hit up The Container Store for a large drawer unit that you can keep in your bathroom. Looking for something smaller? Try Target for a set of 6 small storage drawers (like the one I use!) that can fit right on your desk or dresser. And if you’re really crafty, you can even turn your makeup storage into some much needed room decor! Whatever you decide, get that makeup organized. It will not only save you time, but it will protect your brushes and keep your makeup from cracking or going bad too soon.

I live in a suicide single, so I have almost no space. I use drawer dividers and cheap, glass tumblers to store the make-up and brushes I use often in a desk drawer. Some of my stuff I keep in fun vases and bowls on my windowsill so it looks like it's meant to be displayed. I also got a 4-drawer plastic cart from Bed, Bath, and Beyond to store all of my other toiletries and cleaning supplies. It's small enough to fit in my closet, it has wheels, and the top is wood veneer (so it actually looks nice).

My oft-worn jewelry is stored using tacks on a fabric-covered corkboard, which I put in an antique frame (so it can either sit on my dresser or hang on the wall). All of my other jewelry is in a plastic case which is actually meant to store art supplies.

I'm still looking for a good way to store my absolutely massive collection of OPI nail polish, though.

Aha! This article inspired me to reorganize my stuff, and I ended up hanging a spice rack from my old apartment on the wall to store nail polish. It's perfect. Thanks for the motivation!

Am just here trying to organize my stuff after i have read this great article. Very good and clean idea. Also with no doubt i know very well that as you buy beauty products, you will be instructed on how to keep your beauty solutions. But this can only be done by well organized cosmetics or sites selling the products. I know about one of the most popular site that sells classic and positively effective products I have used their products and i wanna say, they are the best ones you don't have to miss.
