CC Beauty Live: Spring Break Tips

Spring Break is coming, ladies! That’s right, it’s almost time for over-sized cocktails, flippy-floppies, and glistening college boys. Get excited!

That being said, it’s time to start preparing your beauty arsenal for SB 2010. And there’s a lot to think about. You want to make sure not to bring too much (you don’t want to be “that girl” with a whole separate duffel bag for her beauty supplies), but you also want to bring your cheaper products in case Boozy Suzy turns into a kleptomaniac. And, of course, you have to keep the sun in mind if you want to protect your skin and hair.

Hopefully this video will prepare you (beauty-wise, at least!) for the best Spring Break you’ll never remember!

Tip: DON'T wear lip gloss to the beach (unless it has built-in SPF) because the gloss just makes more light rays penetrate directly through the skin instead of just bouncing off = increased risk of lip damage and skin cancer. (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24190829/)

I have a couple extra tips for people

In addition to heat protection for your hair you need UV protection, since the sun can damage and dry out your hair, and destroy your color especially if you have it dyed. I know the L'Oreal Everpure line has a leave-in spray conditioner with SPF, that costs like $12 in Canada, and there are probably cheaper options. If you don't want to buy a product, take a non-greasy sunscreen diluted with water and spray it into your hair with a spray bottle. It's not as good as buying a UV protecting product, because if you use too much it will really weigh your hair down, but I've done this with the sunscreen I use for my face and my hair was fine.

Also bring along or buy a little bit of coconut oil to just put on the ends of your hair after swimming, cause salt water really dries your hair out.

Last thing is make sure you buy sunscreen that blocks BOTH UVA and UVB rays. Only one of those rays causes sunburn but they both damage your skin! The SPF of sunscreen only tells you how much UBV is blocked, so unless it says specifically that it also blocks UVA, you aren't completely protected.

    Hey,

Can you review the Stila One step makeup foundation? I was wondering if you thought it was worth a buy or if it isn't all that it says it is!

    Thank you :)
