Roll out the red carpet, The Oscars are almost here!! It’s time to pop bottles, sit back, and dazzle at Hollywood’s A+ list. With two incredible hosts and so many strong nominees, this year’s Academy Awards show is going to be a doozy. And the best way to get through it is with some friends and a couple of cocktails.
We know your usual drinking habits tend to favor your wallet instead of your taste buds, but there’s something about The Oscars and Natty Ice that just don’t mix. It’s a glamorous event so it requires a glamorous (drinking) menu. We found two cocktails worthy of this red carpet, so invite the girls over and wow them with a few of these:
Champagne Hotel California Cocktails
- 1 ounce tequila
- 2 ounces pineapple juice
- 2 ounces mandarin orange juice
- Top it all off with Champagne
Show off your bartending skills:
Mix the tequila and juices with ice. Strain into a serving glass of your choice. Add in Champagne and cheers! Read More »
Dating is confusing. If it weren’t, we’d all be snuggling up on the couch with our very own Channing Tatum right about now instead of Asking a Dude, watching Tough Love, or keeping Cosmo in business.
Don’t you just wish there was someone out there who could give you all the dating answers and help you navigate the confusing world that is college “dating” (without airing your bizness on a VH1 reality show)?
Well, your prayers have been answered, my lady friends. Meet Kira Sabin, the Stacy London of dating. Kira spends her days giving women the dating makeover they need to help them find love and love themselves along the way. From making over your home (so it’s date friendly) to teaching body language, Kira hones in on what every individual needs to be successful in the world of love so they can find their perfect mate. And she knows what she’s doin!
We didn’t have time for a total dating makeover (we imagine it would take years for this hot mess) but, lucky for us, Kira agreed to sit down and give us a little insight into the wacky world of college dating. And what she told us has already made a world of difference. Read More »

Neutral blazer: worth the splurge
It’s really easy to get swept away by trends and brand names when you’re shopping. The stuff is just so pretty! Not pretty, though, is a closet full of overpriced clothes that are torn, tattered or out of style six months later. Before you hit the mall and load up on all that Spring cuteness, take a moment to assess the difference between an investment and an indulgence.
Which is which?
Let’s break it all down.
Worth it: Black pencil skirt
Not Worth it: Sequin mini-skirt
Why: While sequins are a hot trend this season, they are just that – a trend – and who knows if they will still be popular next season? On the other hand, a black pencil skirt is a classic; it works for multiple occasions, will last you for years, and will never go out of style.
Worth it: Good pair of comfortable pumps
Not Worth it: Flats
Why: No matter what flats cost, they are still very…flat. That means they wear out easily, so it doesn’t pay to fork over $100 for a pair; they’re still going to be beat up by the end of the year. Read More »

You can take the girl outta Jersey, but you can’t take the Jersey outta the girl.
Unless you’re Harper’s Bazaar, that is.
Yup, these Guidettes have come a long way from Seaside Heights and have been everywhere from The View to YouTube, always donning Ed Hardy’s finest. Now they’re hitting the newstands.
No, not in Playboy (…yet). A very bold (and, based on the above photo, talented) team at Harper’s Bazaar, the highest of high fashion magazines, has stripped Sammi of her shredded tanks, jorts and scoul; J-Woww of her boob-baring excuses for shirts; and Snooki of her fuzzy slippers; and put these Jersey girls in some serious haute couture. When I think back to senior year of high school, I remember a few things: hardly ever doing schoolwork, living under my parents’ roof, and being 10 pounds lighter, for instance. But there’s no doubt that waiting for those college acceptance (or rejection) letters to start rolling in is the most exciting and nerve-racking time in a senior’s life!
There’s nothing like bringing in the mail and finding that large envelope between the Victoria’s Secret catalog and some random bills addressed to your parents. Your heart pounds as you tear it open and find out that you’ve been accepted to the school of your dreams. You can barely sleep that night, excited to run into school the next day sporting the shirt you bought during your campus tour, telling every one of your peers, teachers, and even the lunch ladies where you’ll be headed next year while your parents are at home preparing your deposit and sending e-mails notifying the other universities you were accepted to that they can suck it you won’t be attending.
But what if, some time later, you found out that THEY TOOK IT BACK!? (Cue the tears, hair pulling, “I can’t show my face at graduation!” etc.) Read More »

So, I’m dealing with a really bad breakup right now. No, my boyfriend didn’t dump me – that would require me to have had a boyfriend in the first place. But my very good guy friend did dump his very serious girlfriend and now I’m left in the middle.
They have been dating for nearly a year and in that time I’ve grown quite close to the GF. We hung out a lot as a group and as things got more serious, I began to hang out with her independently. We’d see movies, do girl dinners and spend long hours at the library studying and making fun of her boyfriend.
And then last week, he up and broke up with her. She was shocked. I was shocked. We were all left with a lot of questions, mine being what I’m supposed to do now. Read More »
