This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of KAO Brands. All opinions are 100% mine.
Alright ladies, let’s talk. Like most women, I’m a woman of indulgence. I love long shopping trips, great meals, and pampering myself whenever I get the chance. And now, thanks to the people over at Kao (makers of Curel, John Frieda, Jergens, Biore and Ban) I am getting the chance to do it all. For free!
Even better, you’re getting the chance too.
So here’s the deal:
Kao is giving away a basket full of awesome pampering goodies every day! The kind of stuff you know you want to buy but you don’t buy because you’d rather save your money and use your roommate’s shampoo/lotion instead. And then she gets all mad at you for using up all the conditioner and you lie and say it wasn’t you but she knows it was you and blah blah blah. Yeah, head over to the Temptation is Beautiful website to enter to win this basket and you could avoid all that. (You can enter every day!) Read More »

Dude,
I’m later into college and I met this amazing guy right at the beginning of my freshman year. We both had an instant connection. We were very flirty, but when I found out he had a girlfriend, I toned it down. We still talked, but never really hung out. I later found out that was because his girlfriend at the time was incredibly jealous of other girls. Well, he just recently broke it off with his LONG term girlfriend and we ended up making out soon after and more than once. He’s such a sweet/caring guy and when we’ve been together for the time we made out, we were together for SEVERAL hours at a time, and also had amazing conversation! He says that he’s attracted to me, finds me incredibly fun to talk to (he’s said that he honestly can’t think of someone he can enjoy talking for as long), that he’ really enjoyed spending that time with me and that I’m this amazing kisser that can also, well, turn him on. He’s also a virgin and not looking to have sex until marriage, so I don’t think he’s saying things to get into my pants. (Right?!)
We’re very open with each other and he’s told me point-blank that I’m not a rebound, but he definitely wants to be single for a while, which I totally understand! I think people need to take a break after getting out of a long serious relationship to find themselves. He calls me his friend and we are, but I don’t know if it will ever progress into something else. I’m not looking to jump right into a relationship, but I don’t just mindlessly makeout with my friends, so I’m not exactly sure where this is going – if it is at all. Is it just that the timing is off or will it progress? Maybe I should take things chill, show him I’m not the jealous type, and down the road he’ll see that things could possibly work.
I would love to here your opinion and advice!
Thanks so much,
Don’t Wanna Be a Rebound

What is wrong with this girl?
In light of the recent engagement of mesh-shirt-wearing, Twitter-obsessed Michael Lohan and former Jon Gosselin flame Kate Majors (the chick who quit her job at Star Magazine because she had fallen in love with the deadbeat dad), we are forced to wonder: could Kate Major be in the Guinness Book for World Records for having the worst taste in men on this planet?
We thought so, but then we started thinking and, while sad and seemingly impossible, there are a few women out there who might be digging even deeper in the dung pit of horrible men. And here they are: the only 5 women on earth who have worst taste than Ms. Major.

Another week has passed and we’re all one more week closer to graduating. This simple fact may send some of you into a depressed-chasing-shots-with-pints-of-ice-cream-alone-in-your-bedroom sorta funk. But put down the ladle, take a deep breath, concentrate on the hotness of Taylor Lautner and relax. (Usually that helps me anyways…)
As we leave our colleges we’re generally expected to do one of the following steps after graduation: get a job, go to grad school, or travel the world to find ourselves.
Most of us will fall into the first category: the job. Just saying the word makes me shudder. The only thing scarier than a 9-5 job to a soon-to-be-grad is actually getting one.
The job hunt can be intimidating, frustrating, and downright difficult. In today’s market, jobs are hard to come by and a degree from a top university no longer guarantees that you’ll instantly land your dream job or that you’ll even be the best candidate for it. But there are steps we can all take and advice we can all use that will better prepare us for the job hunt and make it seem a lot less intimidating. Read More »

You know what would make this Hump Day a little better? How about some sun? I don’t know what it’s like everywhere else in this country (because I’m not Al Roker), but here in Chicago it’s cold, wet and gray. And none of those things make me happy unless it’s a cold beer, a soaking wet Jake Gyllenhaal climbing out of a pool to come snuggle with me on my towel, or a little gray dress.
What happened to spring, yo? Why am I sitting here in full sweats instead of on a porch with a melty cup of ice cream? Bah. I guess if I can’t be running around town in a sundress and flip flops, I might as well pass my time another way. Like with some Would You Rather fun…

Last fall, I raced back to my dorm every Wednesday night to join in the “Glee” weekly viewing party in my friend’s room. Although we would regularly hang out and watch television, and at least sit and later discuss our other favorite shows, we would all drop whatever we were doing (even if it was a 12-page paper due the next day) and set aside special time to get together to watch the sensation that is “Glee.”
Fox’s quirky musical actually released its pilot the summer before, and a bunch of my friends told me it was more than worth watching. The pilot was amazing, and definitely had me interested, but after watching a few episodes when the season started in the fall, I was hooked. “Glee” provides the fun of musicals with the brilliance of sitcoms that I thought had died amid the “reality TV” craze.
Seriously, have you seen what’s on television these days? I can feel my brain cells dying just knowing shows like these exist (start at the 11 second mark). Read More »
Who or what inspires your style? Many of us use celebrities (like Alexa Chung) or movie characters(like Queen Gorgo from “300″) as style inspiration, even though, most of the time, they are being dressed from head to toe by the best stylists. Which we don’t have. And sometimes it’s damn near impossible to work their Hollywood looks into our not-so-Hollywood lives. I’ve made it my mission to tap into the mind of a fashion stylist and show you how to take your style inspiration – whatever it may be – and make it more you
If you don’t know who Zooey Deschanel is, please kindly let me remove the rock that you’ve been living under to do a little educating. This girl acts in movies. This girl sings in her band, She & Him. This girl sings in her movies she acts in. Besides all that, this girl made it cool to dress like you went back in time reincarnated as your stylish mom growing up in the ’60s. And she’s got girls (and guys) mildly obsessed.
There are so many ways different people describe Zooey’s style; they call it “quirky,” “indie,” or “very Zooey.” I think all of those are true, but I think there’s more. Zooey Deschanel’s style reminds me of a shy librarian that was given a subtle makeover. It’s dainty yet a little bit sexy, a little risky at times with hints of old school vintage. It’s a strange combination, yet she always pulls it off flawlessly. Read More »

The weather is finally starting to warm up, and summer will be here before we know it. While I love summer and I’m excited to have the time off to relax and have fun, just thinking about the fact that sundresses, short-shorts, and bikinis are in my not-too-distant future makes me cringe. The fact of the matter is, my body isn’t quite ready for skimpy summer clothes just yet. I’ve begun to slack off a bit on the eating and exercise goals I set in the beginning of the year, and it’s time to get back on track.
DailyBurn, a website that tracks your diet and exercise, is helping me do just that. Once you login and create an account, DailyBurn asks you a few simple questions about your body, activity level, and health and weight loss goals. It then creates a customized nutrition plan that tells you how many calories and grams of fat, protein, and carbs you should be consuming daily, and users log everything they eat into the database to track their diet. This has really helped me make smarter eating choices; by logging everything I eat, I can see what I’m eating way too much of (carbs), and likewise what I don’t get enough of (protein).
The site also helps you create customized workout plans to follow. Users also record exercise into the database, which helps track your workout goals as well as shows them how many calories they burn in relation to how many they consume a day. Read More »
