CC Beauty Live: Summer Eyes

Finally, it’s time for bright eye makeup to liven up your evenings! In the summer, it instantly becomes more acceptable to wear colors other than black or gray at night. I don’t know why, but so it is (OMG, too. much. Pretty Wild).

While seasons never stop me from wearing whatever makeup I please, it may stop some of you. So if you’ve yet to tackle the vibrant summer night eye, let me help. Bright eye makeup is one of my favorite things, and I hope after this video it will be one of yours too!

Hey!, Love your videos, look forward to them every week, always learn a lot from them. I wish I was imaginative enough to come up with some suggestions, but unfortunately I’m not! Anyway, I have a question: you’ve highlighted colours that work really well for your eye colour, etc. but I was wondering if you could give some ideas for colours that work well with different eye colours? My eyes are a rich hazel-y brown, and I have dark hair like you, and olive-y toned skin :) thanks!

What about humidity proof or summer proof make up? Or waterproof make up? =) My makeup melts like five minutes after I step outside!

Tasha: Great question! I tend to believe that anyone can use any colors they want as long as they're confident with it! But there are certain colors that make specific eye colors pop. For your hazel-brown eyes I'd suggest purples (deep to lavender), coppers, golds, neutrals like browns, and pinks. You're lucky because you can pretty much wear anything! I hope this helps :)

nessa: Ah yes! I will have to do something on this as the temperature heats up. Try using a primer if your makeup is melting! I know the humidity is rough.

Like Nessa's question about summer humidity proof make up, I'm wondering what's the best sunscreen makeup & moisturizer that doesn't leave your skin feeling too wet & creamy. Need a more of a mat look to tone down the sweet/shine look? Yes, I'm older so therefore more of a concern about sunblock/skin protection, but also melanoma is on the rise so I guess your never to young to start worrying about that. Any good picks that aren't too expensive?

Hey Caitlin. I am just recently getting into your blog and I love it! I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on eyeliner. I always have the hardest time putting it on. I wear contacts which makes it really hard. Also, we have the same color/thick hair. What shampoo do you use?
