CC Beauty Live: Home Remedies

Beauty products are super expensive; trust me, I know. Even as a self-proclaimed beauty addict, sometimes it kills me to spend money on overpriced creams, treatments and all that other stuff beauty companies tell us we need. Which is why, on a quiet (read: boring) Saturday night in, I scoured the internet for at-home remedies to all our beauty problems.

Turns out, there’s a cure to most of those beauty problems in your very own kitchen. And I tried ‘em all.

No more wasting $30 on a zit cream- just use toothpaste. And no need to get some fancy hydrating cream when you can use sweet, delicious, cheap honey. Watch the vid for more tips!

Watch out with toothpaste too! Freshman year I put toothpaste on my face before I went to sleep to get rid of an emerging pimple, and the next morning my skin was shriveled and gray underneath. It was a sensitive area, right under my left eye, but it left a HUGE mark and scab and fine scar that still exists today. It wasn't particularly strong toothpaste either. But I did use a lot, and I left it on all night. But use with CAUTION!

I was wondering if you have any good products or tips to get rid of acne scares and dark circles under your eyes or at least how to hide them. I love your posts :)

    @ M

Dark circles : Massage coconut oil under your eyes. Keep it for 20 mins and wash it off or keep it over night. It really works. You can also use almond oil, paste of almond (for eye mask), potato juice, cucumber juice.

Also, glycerin mixed with rosewater in equal proportion. Swab your entire face with this solution. You can keep it refrigerated.

V: this is true! Be careful with anything not specified for your face!

M: For acne scars I recommend using Vitamin E! This works wonders. I take Vitamin E tablets and sometimes I break one open and put it on scars at night to help the healing process. I don't experience dark circles, but one of my friends swears by using cold, wet tea bags under her eyes. Clinique also has really good eye products!

    nikki: thanks :)

Rinsing your hair with beer or vinegar in the shower does wonders to make it soft and shiny!
Also, in the summer time when you are tanning, put olive oil in your hair and let it sit for about a half and hour in the sun and then wash in cold water for a hot oil treatment!
