In Our Makeup Bag: Ole Henriksen Blemish Attack Daily Defense Gel
Is it just me or is there another “revolutionary” new makeup product introduced every freaking day?! Just walking into Ulta or Sephora (or even Walgreens!) sends many chicas into fits of hysteria, reaching for the nearest brown bag to regulate their breathing. It’s all so overwhelming.
So how can you know which product – among the sea of thousands – is the best? Which does what you need it to do? Which ones are worth the extra money? Let me help. I don’t know every beauty product out there, but I’ve tested a lot of them and I’ll let you know which are worth the money and which are not.

What it is: Ole Henriksen Blemish Attack Daily Defense Gel
Why this should be in your bag: A girl looks great not only when her makeup is spot-on, but also when she has clear skin. With the proper skincare routine, you can virtually skip foundation and cover-up; your skin will look gorgeous all on its own! My skin is nice, but not at its best. I only have occasional break-outs, but my cheeks are covered in subtle, blocked pores and I find I often lack that healthy “glow.” A product with salicylic acid will help with both those problems by fighting zits and also sloughing away dead skin and eliminating a ruddy complexion. The unique gel formula of Ole Henriksen’s product ensures that your skin is protected for the day and actually helps to eliminate oily patches!
How to use it: Start of by washing your face with a gentle cleanser (I’ve been using Ole Henriksen On The Go Cleanser) and a washcloth. Pat face dry and squirt a pea-sized drop of gel into your palm. I use my fingers to apply the gel all over my face and neck, focusing on areas where I tend to breakout. Let the gel dry, which usually takes less than a minute, and apply your makeup as usual! I’ve found that it’s okay to apply primer, moisturizer or foundation directly on top of the gel, with no patchiness or caking. You may notice some peeling within the first weeks of use (I had just a little bit), but that means the ingredients are working to reveal beautiful skin!
CC Rating: A+
I love this stuff and can’t think of anything negative to say about it (although the $45 price tag is a little bit steep). It has truly improved the condition of my skin. My pores are smaller and refined, my breakouts are virtually gone (and prevented!) and I never have to worry about dead skin interfering with my glowing complexion. My T-zone has also been considerably less oily since I’ve begun using this little gem. In only a month and a half I’ve seen a drastic change and I can’t wait to see how this product continues to improve my skin.
If you’re looking for a multi-purpose blemish product, then Ole Henriksen Blemish Attack Daily Defense Gel is perfect for you!

I have had much the same experience! I love it! It is the very best product I have tried for my mild acne and oily skin! I should mention that it is especially good if you happen to be dealing with acne with …..ahem, MATURE skin. Doesn't dry your skin out but, DOES cut some shine. I love it and have started my teenage son on it as well.
