Common wisdom should tell you that movies and clubs are great places to take a first date. But sometimes where you are and what you’re doing plays a key role in whether things go well or not. However if you want to start a potential relationship off on the right foot, don’t take your date to any of the following places. Thanks to our friends at the Online Dating University for the recommendations.

I don't think this is really a very well-thought-out list. I mean, really, if you can't go any of these places, where CAN you go? The girl who doesn't like any of these things is probably a stick in the mud and doesn't sound like very much fun, anyway. I'm not a sports fanatic but I would love to go on a date to a football/baseball/basketball game – it's a relaxed atmosphere that doesn't rely solely on you to keep the conversation going, especially if it's a casual date. The same goes for museums and mini golf – relaxed, clearly a time for you to get to know each other, but not serious. I don't know what else you could want.
Some of these are valid, yes – but a lot of these aren't terrible ideas. If these are so bad, what places do you suggest? Most readers don't live in a metropolis where you can do anything at any time of day or night, so these are reasonable options, IMO.

Right on Bailey! I was thinking the same thing.

I can agree with #1; 2,3, and 4 may not be the best way to actually get to know someone, but the rest of them? Why not? The only place you've left is a non-themed restaurant. Kind of unoriginal.

I think the list should have 1 item only – don't go on a date with the boring judgemntal single loser that wrote this list.

wow…whoever took the time to write up this garbage list is way off. If you can't have fun on a date with somebody at ANY of these places how could you ever go anywhere and have a good time as a couple? Good job CC staffer, you just made it obvious that you 1)have never been on a fun date, 2)have never been in a relationship that lasted longer than the time spent "together" with your college tutor at the library, and 3)are a sad, lonely, person that nobody wants to hang out with. However, I believe in ending on a good note, so…good job on the graphics! Very nice – impressive even. You might not have a future that includes someone to share your life with, but you will almost definitely be able to get a job as a web designer.

Definitely have to agree with the commenters above, if you can't go these places, where the eff do you go? A stroll in the park?

No strolling in the park, Jennifer. That would require walking hand in hand. Oh, the horror! XD

I agree with the family gathering thing but after that this list makes no sense at all. The movies? Really?(Seth and Amy style
)

No coffee house? No restaurants? No museums? RETARDED. You can go anywhere as long as you can have a decent conversation and it's fun (or relaxed) for both of you. Better yet, forget all the dating fluff and just get straight to the sex.

Soooo…. all of those places seem like an ok date night. The whole point of dates is to do an activity together that takes some of the pressure off of trying to spark up conversation. That itself is a lot of pressure
