In honor of Women’s History Month, CollegeCandy has decided to spotlight some of the world’s most influential women. First, naturally, we focused on the women from our generation. Then, we highlighted some fierce females in their 30s.This week, we pay attention to some of the most amazing forty-somethings. These are the women that show us life really does get better as you age, whether you’re a famous movie star or activist. Anything can happen, and just like these women have done in their 40s, we can make a difference in the world at any age.

    Obviously, the list of fab women in their 40s could go on forever. I'm digging SJP, finally, after years of resisting her because I feel like she's dedicated to bringing the Halston name back into the spotlight.

    What about JK Rowling? I was sad that she wasn't on the list. But all of these women are wonderful.
