Baggin’ Out: Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Huge Hillier Hobo

Now that hot weather has started to creep in, I’m seeing girls busting out of their shirts their brightly-colored bags. Turquoise, hot pink, neon orange – I’ve seen, and loved, it all. After all, summer is the perfect time to rock a daring purse; all the scenery around is bright and sunny,  flowers are blooming, the sun is shining and you’re walking on the boardwalk, sporting a handbag in a spectacular shade!

Marc by Marc Jacobs is a fantastic line for college gals. It’s designed by the legendary Marc Jacobs, but designed to suit our less-than-stuffed wallets. Although still in the high-end range, the dream of owning of a Marc by Marc bag is within reach, unlike a straight up Marc Jacobs (which cost over $1,000 each). Despite releasing new purses each season, Marc by Marc has a few classics that are kept in stock all the time, including the ever-popular Huge Hillier Hobo (woo alliteration!). It’s consistently one of the best-selling of the brand and for good reason!

As you’ve probably guessed, the Huge Hillier is a large-sized bag, measuring 16.25 L x 16.5 H. It features a magnetic top closure, which allows for slight expansion if you’re carrying something particularly large, a back zipper pocket, and two multi-purpose slip pockets for your cell phone or other small accessories. It’s made of 100% leather, that gets softer and more buttery the more it’s worn. There is a regular shoulder strap permanently attached to the bag, but also a detachable shoulder strap that lets you sport it like everyone’s favorite Gossip Girls, Blake Lively and Leighton Meester.
