As most people know, unless you live under a rock, Katie Couric is leaving CBS. Which begs the question, who watches CBS News anyway is going to take her spot?
Couric’s tenure at CBS has been less than a fairytale. The first woman to host an evening news broadcast, CBS had high hopes for Couric and the ratings she would bring. Only, she didn’t. And now that she’s jumping ship for a daytime talk show, the CBS execs have a great opportunity to bring in someone who actually can.
What they need is someone who can spice up the news room a little bit. Someone who will make people want to watch the news, no matter how depressing it is. Someone new and interesting and exciting who will make us want to turn off ‘Friends’ reruns and catch up on what’s going on in the world.
And I’ve got a few money ideas.
I’m really happy spring is finally here. Reading a Maxim magazine during those long winter days just made me really cold. I don’t know about you but nothing about laying around in lacy panties and bronzer makes me feel cuddly and warm. But higher temps and the lack of clothing on women that comes with them aren’t the only reasons I’m excited about this month.
April showers at Maxim bring 8,000 women in one bed!
That’s right, the annual sex survey is here! Maxim is gracing us with thousands of women and their deepest sexual secrets. It’s slutty and I like it.
Before we get to the good stuff, though, let’s take a look at everything else? First, Maxim taught us ‘How to Put Out a Grease Fire,’ which was extremely interesting because I clearly would have enough sense when I’m lighting my life on fire to attack it with baking soda and call 9-1-1. I accidentally called 9-1-1 at work the other day and I can’t find my own mascara in the morning. Do I sound like the person that would conquer a spreading grease fire?
In the monthly special, ‘Woman With a Tool,’ Maxim provided us with a seriously hammered girl holding a….you guessed it….hammer. But don’t worry, she’s wearing steel-tipped panties. Hoo-hah-hum. Clever, Maxim. Want another gross visual? Imagine Jason Biggs half-naked with sushi all over his soft, white man-chest. Or just buy a Maxim and turn to page 46. Read More »

We're celebrating at CC HQ!
As we mentioned yesterday, people around the globe will be celebrating One Day Without Shoes today by taking off their shoes to raise awareness for the millions of children who are forced to go barefoot every day. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, read our interview with TOMS shoes founder and Chief Shoe Giver, Blake Mycoskie, right here.
One Day Without Shoes is such a simple yet powerful idea to bring attention to such an important issue. According to Blake, when you take off your shoes “people are going to ask you why in the world are you not wearing shoes? And that’s your chance to really be an activist, to really talk about the millions of children around the world who don’t have a choice.”
We were so inspired by Blake and his mission that we decided to get involved. So we bought yet another pair of TOMS (I mean, come on, how cute are these?) And then we decided to take it one step further. And by “one step” we mean “a giveaway.” Read More »

From the moment we step foot on campus, we’re warned about sexual assault and sexual harassment. We’re told about the 1 in 4 women that will be assaulted in some way before they graduate, about the ways to protect ourselves from sexual assault, and the number to call in case we ever find ourselves victims of sexual assault. But this information almost always refers to student on student sexual harassment.
Unfortunately, sexual harassment isn’t just a student student problem. Sometimes, it’s professor to student. Or coach to student. Or some other school official to student. Sexual harassment in schools is more common than you think and it’s finally being talked about.
So what exactly is sexual harassment in school? Well, let me break it down. Read More »

You meet a million people in college. Or so it seems as you go from dorm to class to frat party, seeing thousands of new faces along the way. How’s a busy college student to determine who she’ll like or who she’ll want to avoid?
Well there’s no better instant-indicator than judging someone based on their major. Sure it’s a stereotype and sure it’s not always right, but as most college students can attest it’s usually pretty accurate. So step into our judgmental world and check out our ultimate major translator. You’ll have your entire campus figured out in no time!

Whatcha hidin' under that shirt, Charles?
Not news: Charlie Sheen is crazy.
He has conquered the tri-fecta of Hollywood crazy and has moved into the ranks of Lohan and Britney circa 2007. He is clearly on drugs, has his own catchphrase (#Winning) and is making the big bucks by going around the country talking about how crazy he is. He’s a regular crazy ass.
Major news: Charlie Sheen’s abs are #winning.
Considering the guy is a drug addict who smokes more cigarettes than an entire sorority house full of drunk girls, you’d expect the guy to be in less than stellar shape. What you wouldn’t expect is this.
I know, right?! SHOCKING. Can I get a slow ‘daaaaaaamn’ from my soul sisters? I guess I finally get what all those goddesses see in him.
Note: I still think he’s gross. And crazy.

If you don’t know what TOMS shoes are, something is wrong with you. Seriously, even my mom has a pair. And she’s 60. I have 5 pairs. My best friends each have 2. And every time I’m anywhere, I spot at least 5 other people wearing them.
Like North Face fleeces and Burt’s Bees lip balm, everyone’s got some TOMS, and for good reason: they’re super cute, they go with everything, and, duh, every time you buy a pair, TOMS donates a pair to a child without shoes in South America. Now that’s a fashion staple I can get behind!
So you can imagine my excitement when I was offered the opportunity to talk to Blake Mycoskie, the man behind my favorite footwear. (And if you can’t imagine it, it was basically me jumping around the room and calling everyone I know to brag about it, then going to the TOMS website and ordering another pair.) Not only is he super smart and just a cool guy to talk to, but Blake’s passion for changing the world is infectious.
Read on to hear the story behind TOMS, what’s coming next, and the mega-easy way you can get involved with One Day Without Shoes, which is happening tomorrow, April 5th! Read More »
