Hot or Hot Mess: Diane Kruger in Alessandra Rich at a Charity Gala in Paris

One of the things I like about writing this style column is that it allows me to fully embrace my general indecision and fickleness. It lets me avoid fully committing to liking or disliking something and leaving the final call up to you guys. This week is yet another outfit that I am completely on the fence about again.

Diane Kruger wore this Alessandra Rich dress to a charity gala in Paris with her boyfriend Joshua Jackson. She paired it with a bright orange belt and nude heels.

Okay, things I like about this dress- the pockets (however, only Diane Kruger can get away with putting her hands in them and not creating giant monster hips), the addition of the belt (love the combination of lime green and orange), the shoes (you can’t go wrong with nude shoes) and the entire top half.

What I’m not sure about is the length. I think this dress would have been stunning if it was cut just above the knee, it just seems like an awful lot of material that just seems a little overwhelming. I also can’t decide how I feel about white-and-lime combination, especially in the way its patterned over the dress, it’s a little bit like moss growing over it.

However, Diane is a gorgeous girl with fantastic style. I love her simple hair and makeup here. I think I’d like the dress a bit more if it was a little more fitted on the top half to flatter her figure, and was shorter on the bottom half. I think if I could just see some more of her gorgeous shape this dress would be less overwhelming on her. If you’ve got it, flaunt it!
