Louboutin’s 8-INCH Ballet Heels and 12 More Pairs of the Most Uncomfortable Shoes EVER

This is super embarrassing, but as a 20 year old woman, I STILL have not mastered the art of walking in heels. Sure, I can do little kitten heels or wedges, but I dream of a day when I’ll be able to walk effortlessly in a pair of 5-inch stilettos without looking like a newborn giraffe.

I know it’s all about balance and distributing your weight evenly between the ball of your foot and your heel, but how the hell are you supposed to even attempt to do that in Louboutin’s new 8-inch ballet heels? Those shoes don’t even have a place to put the ball of your foot! I guess if you were a professional ballerina that’s been walking on her tippy-toes for the majority of her life you’d be able to handle these, but I’m pretty sure professional ballerinas only make up about 0.0001% of the population.

And yes, I get that it’s part of the “Lady Gaga effect” and that designers are trying to create ridiculous clothing that will hopefully make its way into the next big music video, but if these shoes take off and become the next must-have formal accessory, I think I’m screwed.

If you thought those shoes were crazy, check out our gallery of the 13 most uncomfortable pairs of heels EVER. Do you think you could walk in any of them?

Does anyone else hate when a friend wears really uncomfortable heels and then complains all night that she's in pain?

I walk in 5 inch heels all day. Yes some people sometimes as me How I do it. But Ive been dancing all my life and find flats to be UGLY and uncomfortable.

Christian Louboutin is a Genius. He is a great inventor and creates great heels. The 8 inch heels ARENT meant to be worn they are beign auctioned off for the the academy of ballet.

Not everyone can wear heels, however they are a beauty and adds a great deal into our fashion world today.

      I liked your blog, but…

First, both beauty and taste are highly subjective commodities and while anyone is free to expose the degree to which their ego is over-inflated by claiming to possess them – it's a moronic action to accuse anyone else of not having them.

Second, who cares who wears heels? As it happens, I am a rubbish dancer and also 6ft 3in in bare feet and I happily wear 4 and 5 inch heels to the office every day – and I rock them! But, I wear flip-flops and gladiators and whatever the hell I like, too. There is no rule book.

Third, those lobster claw heels are Alexander McQueen not Christian Louboutin. I happen to quite like them, if I squint… and just because they look like ballet shoes en pointe, doesn't make them so. In fact, they are just a cunningly disguised platform heel, albeit a very high one.

And fourth, Gaga rocks. As do both Louboutin and McQueen – even from beyond!

haha ok. so then I followed the link and found out what you were talking about!!! Why does your story talk about Louboutin but show pictures of McQueen? Yep, totally agree. The ballet things are just a little too… pointless? Still, I stand by my earlier diatribe ;-)
