’80s Movies Every ‘90s Kid Should See

If I could go back to any decade it would be the ’80s, but unlike Michael J. Fox I never found an old man who made a time machine out of a DeLorean. So I’m forced to watch one of my favorite decades through movies, horrible music videos (I’m looking at you Paula), and of course thrift store shopping for bright-colored leggings (they’re still in, right?).
Luckily, the ’80s seem to be making a comeback, I know, I know I’m as surprised as you are. And although I am all set with shoulder pads, it is nice to finally have other people appreciating the artfully crafted movies from that time period.
Like a classic ’20s black and white film, some ’80s movies need to be seen by everyone. Not only did some of them inspire horrendous remakes (cough Love Don’t Cost a Thing cough) but most of them star some of our favorite actors today…back when they were a little younger and a little more awkward. Plus, liking ’80s movies is totally in right now!
Keep reading for a crash course in the major films of the ’80s..or at least the ones you need to watch like asap.
No, but really…start looking them up on Netflix.

Footloose, BACK TO THE FUTURE (or is that one too obvious?), and Dead Poet's Society. I like About Last Night as well, but I don't really think it's a must per se.

OMG Say Anything <3 <3 <3! Also would add Better Off Dead to this list, John Cusack's debut as the main star — "Class" in 1983 was his "first time" at age 17 (lol). A movie that also features Rob Lowe in drag, btw. You can't have a list of '80s classics without hearing the words "I want my two dollars!"
Also, not a teen flick obviously but the '80s classics "Airplane!", "Caddyshack" and "The Blues Brothers" also belong on the list of "decade's best." Those years 1980-89 produced so many good movies it'd almost be impossible to count down all of them, but there's "Big," "Spaceballs," "Flashdance," "Tootsie," "Tron" (the original '82 version)…I'm sure we could add more, but those are just off the top of my head
And with all the hubbub about "Winning" I'm sure we could issue a nod to Charlie "Wild Thing" Sheen et. al. in Major League XD

Also, speaking of "remakes" I was absolutely appalled at the Billboard magazine cover with Beeb the Dweeb holding high said boombox. Where's that two-dollar paperboy so he can go all Full Metal Jacket on Bieber?!?

Wait….all these movies are from the 80's ? Yeah…I've watched all of em except 2 and 4. I think when your parents are too cheap to let you go to the movies& you go to the video store instead &they pick out movies for you…(hopefully to which you were not conceived)…..you watch 80's movies exclusively, even if your'e a 90's kid.
