THIS IS IT! TODAY IS THE DAY! Well, sort of. Today is the day for Londoners, at least. Live coverage of the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II in London began streaming online today at 11am ET, and of course I’ve been clicking back and forth between here and there trying to catch a glimpse of the most wonderful wizards in the world.
But if you have to miss the live footage for some reason (which, if you ARE missing it, I highly suggest you do something about that), here are some photos of the cast from the photo call. The only bad thing about this photo set–Daniel Radcliffe is mysteriously MIA. What’s more important than your last HP photo call, Harry??

When I think “college school spirit gear,” I think of baggy sweatpants with the school’s name written in giant letters along the leg, over-sized sweatshirts that most people seem to disappear into, those cheap little drawstring backpacks that you can’t really fit much into, and everyone’s favorite: the stiff, heavy t-shirt covered in the names of the local restaurants that paid for those shirts to be made in the first place. Little did I know, there are actually tons of other options for collegiate gear outside of your school’s bookstore.
The latest company to launch a little something extra for the students? The preppy, clean-cut sportswear giant, Brooks Brothers. Their new line of sweaters, dress shirts, and ties (all bearing a school logo) are only available for men so far, but I think it’s only a matter of time before we see women’s wear from the country club favorite. And while the collection only features a handful of schools (15 including Harvard, Boston College, Ohio State, and more), there are lots of other schools (including Yale) in talks with Brooks Brothers to be added to the collection. [Every girl needs a good purse (or 12). Whether you’re going for groceries or running from class to class, they are simply essential for holding all your, uh, essentials. Each week, I’m going to show you a fashionable, yet functional purse for the college crowd and let you know why you absolutely need it! I apologize ahead of time to your bank account.]
Since I paid my last MasterCard bill, I’ve decided that I need to buckle down and budget shop with a little more effort. I love my high-end purses, but surprisingly, many middle-end stores churn out wonderful bags at a fraction of the designer cost. One shop that I can always count on to keep on top of trends at an affordable price is Aldo. I was browsing their sale the other day (which is always full of great finds!) and stumbled upon the beautiful Machon.
Color-blocking is a huge trend for Summer and you can test out the waters with a safer combo of off-white and black synthetic with the Machon. The pattern on this purse is quite striking and reminds me, both in shape and design, of the Rebecca Minkoff Bombe M.A.B., but at a fraction of the price. It’s a medium-sized satchel, with one set of handles that rest comfortably on your arm or on your shoulder. The size will perfectly fit all your essentials, plus a notebook or a camera, making it a great everyday purse, whether you’re heading to class or out sightseeing. The slight sheen of the synthetic will also allow you to transition this purse both into fall and evening! Read More »

One of my favorite parts of sex is the exploratory aspect. Trying new positions, dabbling in role play, doing it in unexpected places. It’s one of the key ways I get an adrenaline rush, and 99% of the time, if my boyfriend has an idea and runs it by me, I’m game. That said, there is a lot of pressure when you start to cultivate a reputation as being sexually adventurous, and you (or maybe it’s just me) start to feel entrapped by it. Your personal preferences become secondary, and sex almost starts to feel like a chore (because not wanting to do anal every time obviously means you’re dull in the sack, right?).
On the other hand, you could be someone who is more conservative, maybe because you’ve had less than stellar experience stepping outside of the box before, or maybe because you have set in stone preconceived notions of what you do and don’t like, even though you haven’t tried any of the things you claim to not like. Setting boundaries that are too strict, or are not strict enough, are both hindrances to a vibrant, healthy sex life.
1. Be your number one priority.
This is absolutely essential. While good sex is generally a physical mutual appreciation society, it’s also a bit of a selfish affair. You can’t necessarily expect the other person to always have your best interests at heart, unfortunately, but you should definitely always keep your pleasure, your comfort level and your self-respect in mind. One of the worst feelings in the world is one of self-betrayal, and there is no reason to sacrifice your well-being during sexy time. Read More »

Ever since the last Harry Potter book was published, the series has left a gaping hole in reader’s hearts. We’re all lost without the tales of Harry and company and the last movie is making us feel a little nostalgic. So what’s left to read? I’ve scrounged up some books that contain the same general themes as Harry Potter such as friendship, the supernatural, loyalty, adventure and so forth.
Disclaimer: Most of these books ARE children’s books. But so was Harry Potter, which you read and loved so give some of these other books a chance. I mean honestly there are only so many adult adventure books worth reading (or that I could find).

Hey Dude,
I’m an incoming freshman with a really embarrassing secret. I still haven’t had my first kiss. Now, before you start thinking that it’s because I’m socially inept or totally ugly, let me explain. I went to an all girls high school and while many people might think this means I can’t talk to guys, the truth is I’m pretty good at it. I’ve had my fair share of crushes and almost-boyfriends but I’ve still never been kissed. I think this has to do with the fact that I’m way past the average age for such a thing to happen so part of me wants to look for someone special to share my first kiss with, if that makes any sense. Basically I mean that, for a thirteen-year-old (which is probably around the average age for a first kiss), a first kiss is really special. So, as an eighteen-year-old lip virgin, I still hold on to this feeling that my first kiss should be special, too. I’ve been to parties where I’ve danced with guys and almost hooked up with them, but then at the last moment I think “wait, I don’t even know this guy’s name, he’ll totally be able to tell that I’ve never done this before, and do I really want my first kiss to be while I’m drunk and he probably won’t even remember?” I’m conflicted because while I want to just get my first kiss over with so I can enjoy randomly hooking up in college, part of me still wants my first kiss to be special. Every day I flip back and forth between these two options.
So, I have a few worries that you may be able to help me out with: 1- Do I throw out my morals and kiss the guy I just met or do I wait it out for someone special? 2- What if the guy can tell it’s my first kiss? 3- Considering I told you I haven’t had my first kiss, you’ve probably already realized that I haven’t had any “sexual encounters” with any guys…will college guys think I’m weird because of this? 4- I’m also worried that if I do just give in and hook up with some random guy, I’ll feel something more for him (because it was my first kiss) and he won’t think anything of it.
I really need your help, Dude.
Thanks,
Never Been Kissed

Boy-bands: back in the ’90s, we were their biggest fans. We rocked out to every one of their songs, hung posters of their seemingly perfect pre-pubescent faces on our walls, and daydreamed of our secret romances with them. That inevitable feeling of nostalgia whenever we hear a classic Hanson song, or relive the “Battle of the Acrobatic Boy Band Videos” (featuring none other than *Nsync and the Backstreet Boys). I must admit, I was always a bigger BSB fan, and was secretly screaming like a tween again when I heard they were going on tour this summer!
So what are our other favorite boy bands up to these days? Let’s take a trip down memory lane with our Where Are They Now: 90s Boy-Band Edition.
