Meet 9 Failed Celeb Power Couples

Now that Forbes has released their list of the top celebrity power couples (according to the millions they earned from May 2010- May 2011), we can’t hardly imagine who will take the top spot for 2012. In lieu of these couples’ major success, though, we cannot help but stop and think about those celebrity pairs who had the potential to be a power couple–if their relationships actually would’ve lasted.

Here are just a few of the [failed] celebrity power couples. Read More »

Glamour Says The Darndest Things: September Edition

I’m obsessed with everything about Rihanna’s look on this month’s cover of Glamour. Her bright and bold red hair, her sexy halter top, those sequin pants, her gorgeous smile…one of the best covers in recent memory, for sure. As this is the September issue, the mag is about three times heavier than usual, which means there are three times as many ads to dig through to get to the actual content. That said, I did want nearly every piece of makeup and clothing featured, so I can’t really hate too hard this time around. That made up for the questionable articles in the issue.

The number one thing a guy wants in bed? Is a blowjob. Really? I am shocked and awed. I had no idea guys liked getting head. So disappointing, I thought they’d at least take  page out of Cosmo’s book and talk about doggy style or anal. There was a horrifying article about Female Genital Cosmetic Surgery, which is just as depressing as it sounds. G-spot collagen, vagina tightening and labia nip/tucks, among other procedures, were outlined. Because women really need another part of our bodies to be discontent with.

Moving on to more light-hearted territory, Glamour interviewed an OkCupid employee, who shared how you can find out sensitive information on a first date in really roundabout ways. Read More »

Dyeing Disaster: Poor Animals Lose Their Color

Why anyone would chose to dye their pet, I will never ever understand. Personally I’d opt for a normal colored dog over a hot pink one, but hey, I guess everyone is entitled to their own preferences.  I guess. But like I wished I had said to my friend when she dyed her black hair, platinum blond in the sink, sometimes you should stick with your natural color.

Let these photos be a reminder to you to think twice before you dye your pet…or your own hair.

So You’re a Virtual Intern?

Good news! More companies than ever are investing in virtual internship programs, which means interns can work from home. While still earning class credit. And building your résumé. Possibly without even taking off your make up from the night before and while “glancing” at new episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. If you snagged one this semester, it’s like a college girl’s dream!

…or so you thought. The freedom to “make your own hours” has turned into cramming ten-hours-a-week’s worth of work into the spare minutes between Vegas trips and parties. When you try to work, you can barely even stay awake. And since there’s no intern dress code, you’ve stayed in your pajamas for periods longer than you did during finals week.

However, I warn you: you’re probably receiving very real class credit, so your supervisors deserve very real results. And these little changes will make a big impact on your virtual internship experience:

Stick to a schedule. Set out time each day and each week to get your projects done – online tools like Google Calendar and Toggl help you keep track of your hours – and respect that time. What would your bosses think if they knew you were texting your boyfriend every ten minutes? Would you have a flashing Facebook browser tab open on the company computer? Put your cell phone/TV/distractions on silent, just as you would at a live internship.

Why I Buy $10 Concealer

I love browsing around Sephora, peeking through the glass department store cosmetics cases, and trying on expensive designer make-up just as much as the next girl, but when push comes to shove, I’m a struggling college student who simply can’t afford to buy the high-end products (but a girl can dream, right?). I’m always hearing women praise the quality, longevity and overall appeal of high-priced cosmetics, but after splurging once or twice on a whim, I can honestly say I prefer to stick with the drugstore basics.

When it comes to concealer (one of the most essential necessities of life, am I right?), I don’t think there’s any reason to spend more than $11. I tend to go for Covergirl stuff, but I’m also a fan of the surprisingly cheap (and healthy!) Neutrogena cosmetics line. Here’s why: Read More »

What Every College Town Should Have

A karaoke bar. There. I said it. As much as I like to claim my school has everything I could want and is essentially the perfect college town- I might be stretching the truth just a teeny tiny bit. And I don’t think I’m alone. I’m not sure if there is a perfect college town out there- but if there is one, I pretty sure it would include these ten things. Read More »

5 New Kardashian E! Shows that will Definitely Air Soon

I think it’s safe to say that the E! network is slowly becoming the Kardashian News Channel. Sure, we all love an E! True Hollywood Story marathon, some late-night Chelsea Handler or some laughs with the incredibly sexy Joel McHale, but after six seasons of Keeping Up with the Kardashians and three different spin-off shows, it’s become almost impossible to turn on that channel without seeing one of the infamous Armenian princesses.

…not that that’s a bad thing. As much as we try to deny it, we all have a bit of an obsession with the family who’s not really famous for anything (besides freeing OJ Simpson), and I think they’re going to continue to cash in on that obsession. The Kardashian family has now extended to include Kendall, Kylie, Scott, Mason and all the guys any of the girls publicly dated, so I contacted E! to see what kinds of spin-off shows they had lined up.
