Hot or Hot Mess: Gwyneth Paltrow in Pucci at the Emmy Awards in LA

Gwyneth Paltrow is one of those celebs you have to take with a pinch of salt…and a dash of jealousy. She has the talented husband, the gorgeous kids and the rockin’ body. But at least she doesn’t pretend she got her hot bod from a diet of burgers and fries, like most celebrities. She doesn’t give those utterly crap statements about a “fast metabolism” and never moans “Oh, I hate the gym” and “I love pizza!” Girl works hard for her body, so props to her for wearing an ab-bearing dress for the Emmy’s. Admittedly, it’s hideous. But she has got abs to die for. Or at least to give up wheat and dairy for.

I could see the idea behind this dress, it’s a “Look at me! Look at my body bred of a macrobiotic diet!” dress. It was meant to make a statement, to turn heads. And let’s be honest, it does that. It’s daring, it’s sexy and it’s a little bit Genie in a Bottle. But it’s nice to see Gywnnie making such a bold choice.

For me, it’s a no. I love me some sheer paneling and some embellishment, but I think cut-outs would have been more subtle and sexy than a full-on ab-display. And the embellishment is a little bit OTT. But her hair and makeup is the opposite. I would have liked to have seen something a little more “done” regarding makeup. Her hair is fabulously sleek and shiny though, undoubtedly a result of her perfectly cleansed insides.

She paired the dress with Neil Lane jewellery and Roger Vivier Spider sandals.
