Actors Who Are Way Too Old to be Playing Freshmen

There seems to be an unwritten rule in Hollywood. Never play your own age. There’s long been a trend of teenagers being played by the 30-plus crowd. Turns out the same is true for college movies/TV shows. Here’s a few of the worst offenders.

      Cory Monteith should be on the list haha. He's gorgeous no denying that, but he's 29 and playing a 17 year old haha.

      Clark Kent was never a college freshman on the show. Apparently none of the characters ever went to college.

      they forgot stacy dash. she looks incredible but she was like 30 when she did clueless. she still looks the same now & that was like 15 years ago.

      Technically, yes they did. Clark went to college up until his father died in Season 5. Lois went to MetU until she was kicked out for alcohol use in Season 4. Chloe and Lana went to MetU until it was partially destroyed at the end of Season 5, and Chloe kept taking classes there while working at the Daily Planet through Season 7. Its mentioned, but apparently in that universe you don't actually need a degree or any experience to work at one of the best newspapers in the country (evidenced by the fact that Clark gets randomly hired at the Planet in Season 8).

      But yeah, Tom Welling was 10 years older than his character. How about the fact that he was a playing a high school freshman at 24?

      How about the whole cast of Grease? John Travolta was 23 when they filmed and O.N.J. was 29! Stockard Canning (Rizzo) was 33.

      What about Tom Welling who *started* playing a high school Clark kent at age 24? and was playing a college student at age 29?

      You can go all the way back to the 70's to find highschoolers being played by people in their 20's and 30's. "Welcome Back Cotter" "Head of the Class" and more.

      Yep. When I read her age somewhere a couple of weeks ago, I was shocked. I just watched Clueless again recently, and she looked exactly the same. So does Alicia Silverstone (her co-star in Clueless). Back then, they looked a little too old to be playing 16-year-old HS students, but in real life, they look extremely young for their age.

      Oh.my.gosh collegecandy, get your ish together. where are the real people that are supposed to be on this list: Tom Welling,Smallville, Clueless Cast, Reese Witherspoon and every highschool character she's ever played, HIGHSCHOOL MUSICAL and their old ass cast!

      The guy who played Jackson on Hannah Montana was in his 30s when he was in it, even though they don't really say what grade he's in.

      I just looked up the guy who played Jason on Hannah Montana. He's 34!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's disturbing….

      How about Justin Chon from Twilight playing one of Bella's high school friends? That Asian dude looks SO young yet he's 30!!!

      How about the movie House Party with Kid n Play and the three juicehead bullies played by Full Force were HS seniors! They were all at least in their 30's!

      The guy who played Hannah Montana's brother was like 30 playing a high school student. I obviously don't remember his exact age but it was around there and that is ridiculous.

      CourtneyYay! Oh my goodness- I am at work and I just sqkaeued out “Yay!” out loud and I am sure that everyone here thinks I am crazy. Soo excited! I would like the letter “A” for AceMan. And now I am going to have to go out and buy some pink and purple and green fabric and try to make one for Emerson because I am sure she will want one too! Thanks so much Paige!
