Hot or Hot Mess: Emma Stone at The Help London Premiere in Luca Luca

I’ve gotta say, when I first picked this as this week’s outfit, I wasn’t really sold on it. I picked it for my notorious “on-the-fence” posts. But after having some time away from it, I actually really like it.

It’s a very unusual dress. A strange mix of conservative (the covered shoulders) and a little sexy (the thigh-high slit) and not something everyone can pull off, but Emma Stone has this amazing ability to pull off certain things that would look hideous on other people. I love the print (polka dots are huge for Spring/Summer 2012) and this dress has that straight-off-the-runway look while also looking super-wearable. She doesn’t look like she’s tried too hard. I love that Emma Stone always seems to have fun with the fact that she’s young and never tries to dress too old. This is the perfect dress for a young, hot star.

She added a skinny black belt at the waist — a great touch I thought — black strapped Brian Atwood sandals and minimal jewellery. She had her red-again hair wavy and to one side (very Hollywood starlet) and added a red lip (great pop against the monochrome dress) and a smokey eye.

This dress is unusual, and if you pick at it you could say “oh the neckline is weird” and “the sleeves are odd”, but the fact is, it’s a stunning dress on her and she looks lovely. I like the fact that she also chose a little-known Italian designer. Luca Luca might well be the name on everyone’s lips after this red carpet knockout.

I'm not crazy about the sleeves, but I do agree that she looks lovely!

she pulls it off well…but i feel that the top swamos her a bit. it would be nicer without the sleeves.

I love this! emma stone has such a classic look. Her porcelain skin goes well with the nude of the dress, her red lip and hair really pop against the neutrality of the dress.

I don't like this. She so young and fun, and this just makes her look weird.
