Hot or Hot Mess: Chloe Moretz in Dolce and Gabbana at the Scream Awards

I know here at CC, we’re kinda say whatever you want, do whatever you want girls, and that’s awesome, but let’s be gentle with Chloe Moretz. She is only 14. When I was 14 I was still wearing blue eyeshadow and tshirts with Eeyore on the front.

Chloe Moretz wore this black lace D&G dress from their Fall 2011 collection to the Scream Awards in California, where she scooped an award for Best Horror Actress for her role in Let Me In. She paired it with gorgeous bow-front black sandals, wavy, side-swept hair and minimal makeup.

The original dress was worn with simply a bra underneath, but thankfully Chloe kept it age-appropriate by wearing a black tank underneath.

I like this dress but don’t love it. And I love lace. There just seems to be a lot going on, and I don’t know how I feel about the bottom half with the white lace underlay. But I do love the diamond-studded belt she added. I guess lace has been everywhere for so long that it’s hard to find anything original to do with it. But I do think she made a great choice with this dress- it’s cute, but not sexy, not short and cleavage-free.

What do you guys think, hot or hot mess?

Super cute! Very age appropriate – it's pretty without being sexy, it's classy.

I'm with you. I like that top part, but that bottom part, not so much.

I think its really stylish for a 14 year old, and I'm so glad she isn't pulling a Miley and dressing like a hoe. But I think it actually ages her. You're 14, have some fun! This look is too serious for me. Regardless, I give her credit, she looks very nice.

She is going to more responsible for global warming than all the CO2 from all sources combined.
