From double DUIs to shoplifting charges, it’s been hard to watch Lindsay make headlines more often from criminal activity than from movie deals (keeping them, at least). She hasn’t led a blockbuster in years, but now she’s collecting attention for racking up $90,000 in unpaid limo bills and getting kicked out of a community service program, before a progress hearing in court. And dentists definitely aren’t her biggest fans—what the hell is up with her teeth?!?

It’s a common misconception that kids are picky eaters. In truth, kids have selective taste buds because there are so many delicious foods marketed towards children specifically. Of course children aren’t going to eat sautéed broccoli when the broccoli in their favorite T.V. dinner is doused in cheese sauce. And why would a child eat grilled chicken breast when they’re accustomed to eating dinosaur-shaped nuggets? Take a break from the grown up drama in your life by having a throwback movie night with your friends (we suggest MK and A’s ‘It Takes Two’) and noshing on these favorite foods from when we were kids. And if you find a way to make chocolate milk alcoholic, let us know.

Ah yes, the fourth hour of the Today Show. The one hour of TV that’s almost as much of a trainwreck as Rock of Love Bus. Kathie Lee and Hoda typically talk about some embarassing issues. Acutally, Kathy Lee talks about them, and Hoda tries as hard as she can to act professional. Their behavior has been made fun of on Saturday Night Live tons of times, with Kristen Wiig doing a spot-on Kathie Lee.
Well, I hope SNL was watching today, because the ladies of the fourth hour made us all feel more awkward then we did at our first dance as a pre-teen. They talked about Labiaplasty. Hoda didn’t want to talk about it at all, but that’s okay because Kathie Lee did enough talking for the both of them. She talked about how her mom got the surgery and then her parents were really happy with it. Gross. Ew. Ick. Take a look at the ladies talk about vagina surgery, and hang your head in embarrassment.

Lesson #43 – Don’t Fall For A Weed In A Flower’s Suit
When I was younger, I used to spend afternoons collecting bouquets of what I thought, at the time, were wildflowers. When I skipped into my house, unaware of the mud stains on my clothes, and too consumed with my new bunch of handpicked flowers, my mother would always shake her head and laugh at me. As she put my handpicked bouquet into a paper cup, she’d smile and say, “These are just weeds with cute outfits.” Looking back, I wish I would’ve taken her input more seriously, because as soon as I started dating, I quickly learned her advice applied to more than just gardening.
When it comes to guys, why is that the worst weeds disguise themselves as flowers? As my luck would’ve have it, the most annoying weeds that I can’t seem to get rid of in my dating life were the guys that caught my eye first. This theory even goes beyond looks. (Not to say I haven’t been drawn to an impeccably dressed guy rocking a crisp Brooks Brothers’ shirt and tie, only to realize that his good sense of style was just about the only good thing about him…) It seems like the life of the party guy — who may not even be the most attractive flower in the bunch, but certainly had the most entertaining personality — has also turned out to be one of the biggest weeds in my life. You are slumped over your desk, your eyes hurt from hours of reading, and you feel trapped in the library. You want to stop studying more than you’ve ever wanted anything, but you are only halfway through the material and your midterm is in a week! Rescue yourself before you have a Youtube-worthy breakdown with some tried and true study hacks.
1. Read Smart
If you have a mountain of reading to get through and a little bit of time, you need to prioritize. You do not need to read all of the material to understand the main points. For novels, most students rely on online summaries. Make sure you find different sources so that you stand out from all of the other students who only read Sparknotes. Don’t forget to read parts of the actual novel so you get a sense of the author’s style. For academic articles, read the introduction, the first and last sentence of every paragraph and the conclusion. Also be on the lookout for keywords like “Thus, In this way, I/We have proven, First, Second, Always”. Based on this, write down some key points and learn them well.

This season leather is back, and with that so is greaser-inspired fashion. From Johnny Depp in Cry Baby to Sandy post-make over in Grease (get it Olivia Newton John, get it), the renegade rebel-inspired look is in. For inspiration think the Teddy Boy movement from London, Greasers from The Outsiders, and even the Sharks from Westside Story.
The classic greaser look is comprised of Levi’s 501s, a slightly oversized leather jacket, and Harley Davidson-inspired biker boots. But nowadays this look has been reinvented time and time again. This 50s-inpsired look includes a fusion of structure and slouch, chains, bulk, and general badass. Read More »
