Just because bikini season is over doesn’t mean you can’t have fantastic abs. And luckily for us college ladies, there are lots of ab exercises that can be done in a small space. For these moves, it will be a good idea to use a yoga mat if you have one, or place a towel or blanket on the floor to give your back a little extra padding.
1. Seated Leg Raises

This exercise is a fantastic one for building strength and stability in your entire core. Start seated, with your heels planted onto the floor. Place your arms out to the side, and curve down about halfway to the floor. Think of pulling your belly button in toward your spine to engage your abs and support your back. Then lift your right leg, and gently place it down again. Switch and lift the left leg. Repeat this sequence 10 times, rest, and repeat again. Read More »

After several, uh, constructive suggestions on my last post about North Face alternatives, apparently more warmth is needed for you stylistas. So instead of looking like the Pillsbury dough boy this winter, sport these 10 chic coats and jackets.
Warning: this post is not a cheap and chic compilation. These pieces are on the expensive side but you wanted warmth, and not even your trusty Northface comes cheap. Read More »

I think unoriginality in naming products may be trendy this season, since every single one of my picks is lacking a fun nickname! ASOS decided not to rock the boat and, thankfully I suppose, put all their creative juices into churning out one of the most eye-catching bags I’ve seen lately.

There are too many reasons to love Halloween. For one, you get to dress up like an absolute idiot — or a slut, whichever you choose — and no one judges you. Although, if you’re dressing like a slut, you might be fair game for some judgment but that’s a totally different issue. Not into dressing up? Wear all black and you’re still a goblin in disguise! You really can’t go wrong on Halloween. But, what I really love about this awesome holiday is ALL THE FREE CANDY YOU CAN GET YOUR HANDS ON. (I mean, it was totally way more acceptable to go door-to-door begging for candy when I was five but…whatever.)
Woo hoo!
Have a favorite candy you only feast on once a year? Break the chains of your super strict diet on the night of the living dead?
Well, well, well, do I have some torture for you! Feast your eyes (since you can’t feed your stomachs) on the best of the best from the trick-or-treat bowls. Read More »

Recently, I’ve been struggling with my sex drive. Specifically, my utter lack of one. That’s not a problem I expected to confront, as I’ve always had a pretty strong libido. But I had a less than stellar summer – between my quasi-forced celibacy, feverishly searching for a new place to live, my soul-crushing job, and an utterly disgusting diet, I wasn’t at my best. Then autumn arrived, and I moved into a gorgeous apartment with my boy, I came to peace with my lame job, and I started eating better. All the pieces were coming together, but I still founding myself saying “no” to sex far more than saying “yes.” As you can imagine, this didn’t sit well with the beau, and I wasn’t exactly thrilled with the situation either. The Brazilian based godmother of the flip-flop industry, Havaianas, is preparing to launch their 2011 fall shoe collection, The Soul Collection. I browsed their look book for the fall season and the company has definitely worked hard to create a line that combines their original design as well as the hottest trends this season.
Relying on the comfy marshmallow sole to keep feet and toes happy all day long, the exterior design of the shoe changes drastically as you move from style to style. Each style showcases a different color aesthetic: color blocking, blending and canvas, as well as Jute fibers that embody the spirit of the Amazonian culture in Brazil.
No matter which style catches your eye, each and every Havaianas shoe is created around the iconic marshmallow sole, which is made to feel like you’re wearing your flip-flops year round! While it sounds too good to be true (uh, who doesn’t want to wear flip-flops all year?) it’s not; traditional Havaianas pricing rages anywhere between $38 to $70 dollars. Read More »

So you like to stay up late watching Bravo reruns while your roommate prefers to get her full…uh…14 hours of sleep each night. If you’re a night owl, it can be tough striking a reasonable balance with an early bird. What time do the lights go out? What about music and TV? Visitors? It seems like one problem just begets another! Good thing we’ve got Marysa on our team to tackle all the tough questions.
Tune in to this week’s Ask a Roommate to get tips on how to handle this tough sitch… Read More »

Dear Ryan Gosling,
