Let’s face it, Thanksgiving break can be particularly stressful. A lot of questions arise. Will I gain the freshmen 15 in the one meal? Will the girls from high school that I hated think I’m cool now? Is this assignment really due at midnight on Thursday or does my professor have a really warped sense of humor?
Regardless, a great stress reliever for all these woes is hooking up.
So either invite your boyfriend down for the holidays, patch things up with your high school ex or find your old friend with benefits phone number, and releieve some stress. With your anxiety levels in mind, below are 10 great places to relive that stress over this Thanksgiving break. Got anymore ideas? Please share!

A 10-year-old Mexican girl came into the news this week after giving birth to a 31-week-old baby. The main question on the public’s mind is: Was she raped? So far, no one knows, but hospital workers immediately alerted the police, who are on the case. No matter what, though, the legal consent over there is 12, higher than her age, obviously. Still, the question remains: Who’s the baby daddy? The mother is in good health, but the baby (who was only 3.3 pounds at birth) remains in the intensive care unit. In the state where this happened, abortion is illegal, unless rape can be totally proven…but I mean, come on, with a 10-year-old there doesn’t seem to be much of a question.
On the two month anniversary of the first Occupy Wall Street gathering, New Yorkers gathered for an epic ‘Day of Action.’ After being evicted from their base-camp at Zuccotti Park by NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, protesters decided that Thursday would be the perfect opportunity to show that they’re still going strong. About 75 people were arrested in New York, but the event may have led to some anti-Occupy backlash. A month ago, 36% of Americans didn’t support Occupy interests. Today, 45% oppose them. Not so good for the 99%. But this photo may help them out a bit.
We learned (not that we didn’t already know…) that you can never guess what’s going to happen in the GOP race for president. The underdog, former not-a-chance candidate Herman Cain is still in the lead, despite the sexual harassment accusations that have been coming out of the woodwork over the last few weeks. Another woman has come forward against him, but whether Cain is guilty or not, he has other things to worry about. Like the seriously embarrassing moment when a reporter asked him about Obama’s Libya policy and he had no idea what to say. If Cain continues to mess up, Newt Gingrich, who was also formerly at the bottom of the pack, may ride his increasing popularity all the way to the front. (P.S. Sometimes I forget we have months till the first primary…)

Italy’s Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi finally resigned after months of bitter trials and media accusations, involving underage prostitution.
Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. Why? Because it’s a holiday that is essentially dedicated to food. And I love food. Yes, I know, we’re supposed to be giving thanks and thinking about Pilgrims, but I’m really just looking forward to the meal. And the best news of all is that the great eats don’t stop after Thanksgiving – in my family, at least, Christmas and New Year’s Day also bring big feasts.
There are just a few problems with all this. The holiday season tempts us to go way overboard when it comes to eating, which can be rough on our bodies in a lot of ways. Not to mention that one too many pieces of pumpkin pie can leave you feeling a little queasy. So read on for a few tips to stay happy and healthy during the holiday season.
1. Work small amounts of exercise into your daily routine.
Several studies have found that regular exercise can help counteract the consequences of overindulging in unhealthy foods. The more rigorous the exercise, the better. Study participants have seen benefits from exercises as simple as walking. Because running or walking outside may be unpleasant or impossible in colder temperatures, the gym is your best bet. But almost no one’s in the mood to run out to the gym on a holiday. So work exercise in wherever you can. Hanging out with family? Your little cousins, maybe? Run around inside with them a little bit – you get a free pass to do that if you’re hanging out with little kids. Or volunteer to help set the table and take dishes to and from the kitchen. Not only will you score extra points with your grandparents, but you’ll also be keeping your body moving.

Websites like Etsy are great for many reasons. Because you can apparently scour some cheap and stylish finds as well as find some…less traditional items. From a Beyonce-inspired clay doll to a sperm-print bedspread, here are some of the weirdest finds on Etsy.

Growing up an obese little girl, Thanksgiving was always one of my favorite holidays. I would long for the days when I could sample all of the pies until my heart’s content, eat as much stuffing as I could stuff down and that, my friends, was only the beginning. I think we all know the best part — Thanksgiving leftover sandwiches…just try to keep your drool off the keyboard.
The food, the family, the parade, the mark of the beginning of Christmas…really what more could anyone ask for?
But with all of these amazing things around us (and the promise of half-price shoes the next day) we sometimes forget what Thanksgiving is all about. And I’m not talking about alien pilgrims and alien Indians signing a space treaty (thanks, South Park). It’s a time to take a minute to reflect on everything you are thankful for… Read More »

Black Friday deals are beginning to leak onto the internet and I can already guarantee that even though the savings may sound good you will still end up spending way more money than you should. Now that we got that fact out of the way we encourage you to consider supporting local small businesses (and the USA). We all know Black Friday and Cyber Monday but now it’s time to do you’re best to ditch both and take part in Small Business Saturday coming up on November 26. This Thanksgiving when you are with friends and family ask them to get out there and support their local economy by shopping at a small independently run local businesses over the big box stores like Walmart. Sure, you might spend a fraction more but this will have a direct positive impact on the economic health of YOUR community.
To prove my point, tonight I am going to be eating dinner at George and Martha’s in Morristown, NJ rather than my regularly scheduled stop at Qdoba’s (guilty pleasure).
American Express is making an aggressive push to help turn SBS into the next Black Friday or Cyber Monday so please share this video on Facebook and help us make it a reality.
Breaking Dawn came out on Thursday night and in it’s four-day span in the box office, it’s already earned $140 million. Now, I know Twilight is really awesome to Twilight fans, and I used to be one. But I simply can’t bear seeing Kristen Stewart be awkward anymore, and it still bums me out that Robert Pattinson has forgotten his Harry Potter roots. I’m not judging anyone for seeing Breaking Dawn because I did it for all of the Harry Potter movies, and I’ve spent a lot of money on that franchise. I started to wonder what I could do with all of that cash if I hadn’t spent it on seeing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 like six times. In 3D. With popcorn.
Here are some things that we could do with the money from Breaking Dawn Ticket Sales:

In my 22 years I’ve come to learn three important things about myself. The first two are that I am an absolute sucker for babies and old people. I make an exception for newborns and mean old people because no matter how hard I’ve tried to tell myself otherwise, neither are cute.
When I was in college, I used to spend my Sundays much like I spend them now…doing nothing, clicking random things on my computer, hoping that they’ll keep me busy for at least 45 minutes at a cap. My roommate in college procrastinated by planning her wedding. (Weird, I know, but let’s not go there.)
The third and final important fact I learned about myself is that I’m addicted to puppies. I know, you’re shocked at how groundbreaking my revelations are. Well, when you’re 22 and unemployed, this is what your life becomes.
So, I’m here to help my fellow procrastinators out. If you’re not busy planning your wedding or stumbling on your computer, you SHOULD be looking at these incredibly cute puppies mistaking themselves for humans. Read More »
