Since we love the Muppets so much around here and the movie is coming out in three days (ahhh!), I thought it’d be nice to have some Muppet themed posts. Plus it’s Sunday, and I like to aid in your procrastination as much as possible. Looking through Muppet tattoo pictures is a much better use of my time than writing a nine-page paper on Lord Byron. My teacher shouldn’t be surprised if I have Muppet references in said paper (Steve, if you’re reading I better get an A). Anyway, having several tattoos myself, I am always interested in why other people get theirs.
Interestingly enough, most of the ones I saw were of Animal. Enjoy these fabulous Muppet tattoos…
Let’s just start off by stating the obvious: everybody who’s anybody is excited for Thanksgiving. Unless of course, you hate turkey and your family and the thought of spending an entire day with them… then I have no advice for you. (I love turkey. And my family. I love them more after about three glasses of wine. Sorry. No help, I know.)
Part of the all the hype in coming home is that you’re going to see all your high school friends, frenemies and exes. You’ll hang with your besties and spend a few afternoons catching up on college gossip as well as tackling all the high school drama you’ve missed out on. You’ll get a first chance at answering the questions you’ll be asking yourself for the next four years: who got skinny? Who got fat? She’s dating who now!?
So while you’re counting down the seconds until mom pulls up in the mini-van to carry you home, take a look at the ten people you’re bound to see while you’re home for Thanksgiving break:
I like weird music. It’s as simple as that. I can go from listening to Eminem to Pitbull, then back to Pink Floyd and maybe some Led Zeppelin thrown in there. I saw Hanson in concert. In 2008. And loved every second of it. But, I digress.
I’m always trying to find something new, something different. I even went through a stint where I thought I could write music. I wrote a song or two and fumbled to put them together on a borrowed Fender. Even my 10 years of piano playing struggling couldn’t help me then. I finally decided to put my efforts into finding unknown, musically talented people (aka, NOT me). Here’s a little taste of who I’ve found. (Oh, and p.s., they’re all college age-d. Hello jealousy.) Whether you love awesome mixes of the newest stuff, or something off the beaten path, you’re going to enjoy at least some of the following artists: Read More »
There is almost nothing as comforting as potato soup! It tastes slightly like mashed potatoes combined with the deliciousness of a baked potato – sour cream, bacon, cheese. Mmm. Is there anything more homey than that?
Surprisingly, potato soup isn’t that hard to make – it’s just a matter of using the right ingredients and learning how to properly thicken things! Potatoes have gotten a reputation as being bad for us, but they are very healthy when eaten in moderation. Mostly, their skins are excellent sources of a multitude of vitamins. In this recipe, I like to keep the skins on for this reason! Read More »
[I love spas, but being on a college budget doesn't allow for visits to them. I like to create my own spa days at home, and this is something you all can do too! So I will be bringing you some of my favorite at home treatments with ingredients you already have.]
Last time in Spa At Home, I talked you all through some DIY Scrubs. This week, with the weather finally changing, I thought we should visit some DIY hair and face treatments that you can find in your fridge right behind the OJ. It’s amazing how many treatments you can do with what you’ll find in the fridge. Whenever I’m at home, my parents are always really confused when eggs or fruit go missing and end up on my bathroom counter. The way I see it, why buy a pre-made treatment with lots of chemicals when I can make it at home?
In this video I’m going over some of my favorite hair and face treatments made with super simple ingredients that you probably already have. Watch on!
On my face: MAC Studiofix powder, Laura Gellar bronzer, Painted Earth liquid blush in Flutter, Mary Kay eye pencil, Painted Earth mascara
Lets face it. Most of us hate going to the gym. It’s sometimes fun if you know there’s going to be someone you like there or if you just updated your iPod. But most of the time it’s a struggle just to change into your workout clothes. Not only do you have to worry about getting bored within five minutes, you also have to worry about the people you’ll run into and deal with at the gym.
Here’s a list of 10 people who make your gym experience that much worse… Read More »
Just when we’re falling madly in love with her latest video “The One That Got Away” (warning: watch only with tissues within reach), Katy Perry informed her managers that after the final leg of her California Dreams world tour, she’s entering a musical hiatus. I feel like my lover is leaving in a few days to study abroad, and he’s just telling me now.

Think you’re alone when it comes to having painful sex and experiencing embarrassing vaginal problems?
Think again.
Several times a week we receive emails from CollegeCandy readers asking us (and occasionally using italics pleading with us) to help them solve their sex issues. From painful sex problems to “can I get pregnant if…” questions, our inbox has seen it all. That’s why we got so excited when we received news that Dr. Deborah Coady, MD and Nancy Fish, MSW, MPH wrote a book all about healing painful sex and wanted to help our readers answer their most personal questions.
So with no further ado, here are the answer to your burning (pun intended depending on who you are) questions:
Twitter teaches us a lot of things: breaking news from all over the world, what celebrities are eating for lunch (complete with pictures, because that’s such a necessity) and what my best friends are thinking when they’re passive aggressive. Oh, and that everyone—and I mean everyone—is a dirty little liar. Thanks, #Top100Lies! Check out our favorites from today’s top hashtag, calling you out on your biggest little fibs. Read More »
