Turtleneck or Crew Neck: The Celebrity Circumcision Game

There has been a bit of discussion recently among our writers over whether or not our favorite celebrity dudes are circumcised or uncircumcised. Now, before you ignore the larger issue here and ask why the hell they’d talk about such a bizarre thing — just accept that they tend to let our minds wander and conversations drift from time to time.

Now, back to it. There are strong opinions when it comes to penis…uh…styles (can I say that? does it sound weird?). Imagine if you were one of those girls who was all like, “Gah! What is that? Pause while I WebMD this sitch” every time she came across an uncut dude. What would you do if your ultimate celeb crush came along, totally DTF, and he was sporting more than you bargained for? Would you tell him to move along? Or would you gamely explore foreign territory?

While we can’t coach you through the make-it or break-it moment, we can give you the dirt on who has an elephant trunk in their pants…and who doesn’t. Before we reveal the answers, though, see if you can guess what each of these men are working with… Read More »

Celebrity Chic on the Cheap: Beyonce is Terrifically Trendy

Could Beyonce be any more perfect? I’ve been obsessed with her for over a decade, so my answer would obviously be “no.” She has evolved so much as a singer, performer, and fashionista. She is, in my humble opinion, one of the most consistently best-dressed celebrities. She has a vibrant style that embodies sophistication, glamour and sexiness. She’s not afraid of color and is not afraid to experiment with various colors and silhouettes while still choosing pieces that flatter her. And she has joined the ranks of celebs like Heidi Klum, Gwen Stefani and Victoria Beckham in that being pregnant has not put a dent in her style at all, and in fact makes being pregnant look easy. Photos So Corny You Might Puke!

Okay, I’m all for showing off your loved one but I feel like all the time, err, sometimes people just take it too far. The end result is that your really cute kissing picture with the sunset behind you looks like something my 18-year-old sister would smack on the wall of her college dorm.  Then she and all her friends can dream of finding a love like that. Oh, boo.

I think it’s time to face it, America: we love corny! Since the season of love is drawing nearer and nearer (don’t blame me, John Mayer wrote a song about it) [Editor's Note: Best JM song ever] it’s time we reflect on all the corny ways you’re going to throw your obsessive relationships in the faces of all your single besties.

Keep the puke bucket nearby…. this could get ugly. Read More »

The Top 10 Sexiest Dead Men

People Magazine just released their annual list of the sexiest men alive and super stud Bradley Cooper took home the grand prize. While we all love us a little Bradley Cooper in our lives (preferably shirtless), we weren’t exactly freaking out over the news. Like yawn, Bradley Cooper is hot. My deaf great aunt could have told you that while she set up her Mah Jong game. What obvious announcement is People going to make next? That Ryan Gosling is the perfect man!? This is all old news that all we know and here are at CollegeCandy we like to break news to you that you don’t know.

That’s why we’re kicking off the morning by counting down the Top 10 Sexiest Men DEAD. That’s right, we’re doing a little AM grave digging and bringing you the best of the afterworld.

Web Spy: SuperGlued

I love discovering new music, so going to concerts is one of my favorite ways to spend a weeknight (when I should probably be studying instead). That’s why missing concerts simply because I didn’t hear about them until too late is one of my biggest pet peeves.

But I’ve recently come across a new site that ensures I won’t ever miss another show: SuperGlued. SuperGlued features a concert calendar, so you can browse upcoming shows in your area, and also notifies you of upcoming concerts you might want to attend.

Upcoming concert alerts aren’t all that SuperGlued has to offer, however. The site also links to all your existing social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter, FourSquare, Vimeo, YouTube, Flickr and Instagram. You can easily check in, share tweets, pictures and videos of concerts you’ve gone to — making it easy to connect with fellow concertgoers, and maybe even find a new concert buddy! The site also imports your top 100 favorite artists from your last.fm account and lets you know when they’re playing a show in your area. Read More »

Getting Into Bedsider

A few months ago, an old friend randomly texted me. We’d known each other for about eight or nine years – she was a former next door neighbor. People grow apart over time, but we’d still send each other the obligatory “are you still alive?” text every now and then. This go around, the conversation got a little serious.

We got on the topic of love…her love life and my lack thereof. She had a boyfriend that she’d been on and off with for a few years. The only “on and off” I had was my television.

“I’m having a baby girl in July,” she texted as the conversation waned.

I was mind blown. This girl who I basically grew up with was having a girl of her own?!

When I applied for my internship at The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy in D.C., I had my old friend in mind. I could’ve sent applications to the hundreds of newspapers and magazines in the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) area, but I wanted to do something that truly made a difference. Starbucks runs and fact checking could wait. Luckily, I’m working with Bedsider.org, a new online birth control support network that is informative, fun, and edgy enough to make a real difference. When I got the internship, I promised myself that I’d try to relay the Campaign’s message of prevention to my friends back home. Roughly 75 percent of my graduating class is married or they have a child. Isn’t that crazy?! Read More »

Reports of a Shooting on the UC Berkeley Campus

Reports are just coming in that the UC police shot and wounded a gunman on the UC Berkeley campus around 3 PM PST. Luckily they arrived at the scene before anyone else was hurt and assured students that the campus was once again, completely safe.

This is just another scary reminder that college students don’t live in the safe and secure bubble that we think we do. That somehow, on the same campus where we go to class, meet our friends for coffee in the student center, and lay out on the quad, are dangerous people with loaded weapons.

While this obviously isn’t an everyday occurrence, it is a good wake-up call for every student to remember that a college campus is just like the real world and it’s just as important as it is in the real world to stay aware of what’s happening around us and take the same precautions that we would take anywhere else.
