As this month comes to an end, so does this year and this challenge. To say I finished triumphantly would be a lie. This past week I have been depressed about a number of things, mainly this blessed holiday season. With that depression and added stress, I have broken out horrendously and I have been picking a lot. I couldn’t help myself as Saturday morning arrived and I realized that I was having my first Christmas away from my parents and my plans for it were to go out drinking with friends. I ended up doing a thirty minute spree of popping everything and anything leaving my skin blotchy, bleeding and incredibly tender. I did make the best of that night, and on Sunday spent time with other ex-patriots commiserating about how much we wish were home and how much it sucked that we would be working on Monday. Also, in South Korea Christmas is considered as a couple’s holiday, so trying to find a restaurant to go to is incredibly difficult. It makes you feel extra alone and missing the ones you do love. The real fun of New Year’s Holiday is New Year’s Eve. You get to pop champagne and party with friends or family and watch as much Ryan Seacrest as you want. After all of that fun, you will probably wake up on News Year’s Day with a monster hangover and a list of resolutions you made while you were drunk (“Grow Tentacles”). So order a pizza, and sit down to watch some TV because what else are you supposed to do while you’re hungover?
A lot of networks have marathons on tomorrow, so there will be many Real Housewives just waiting for you. Read More »

Forget the cupcake, 2011 was the year of the cake ball. The little tiny ball packed with cake and frosting and covered in chocolate. It was like heaven came to earth and decided to rest in my mouth. Seriously they’re that good. And now, you can make them at home. We came across this awesome recipe on our Pinterest (hint hint: follow us) and wanted to share it.

Need some motivation? Check out all these amazing cake balls, just be sure to wipe the drool off your face before you start cooking.

Before you head out on NYE with your besties, your most sequined dress, heels and all the worst intentions, do like mom said and make sure you have everything you need before you walk out the door.
We know. You didn’t. It’s okay. We probably wouldn’t either if we hadn’t heard all the worst horror stories from girls who left the house before they had all their last minute necessities.
So, knowing what a hassle it can be to realize you’ve forgotten something after you’re out, we put together a last minute checklist so that you can sip champagne all night long without a care in the world! Read More »

The senior year of college is an emotional roller coaster that you can’t get off of until you cross the stage at graduation. (Then you enter another ride called life and I just haven’t been on that ride long enough to give you the appropriate theme park metaphor…my apologies.) As much as you love your friends and your school and your classes, you’re also freaking out about what you want to do after college and if what you want to do is right. And if you’re anything like me, you’re probably suffering from a killer case of the “what-ifs”.
What if I go to grad school?
What if I move to NYC without a job?
What if my boyfriend breaks up with me?
The what-ifs are never-ending and you’ll find them creeping up during class, while you’re at happy hour and even while you’re hooking up. It’s a nasty sickness that’s hard to cure. Luckily CollegeFashion has a handy dandy guide to figuring it all out. Check it out here!

From a very early age, I had a love-hate relationship with actresses my age. I loved them because they were on TV and in the movies and oh so cool. And I hated them because they were on TV and in the movies and oh so cool. I can’t even begin to describe my complex emotions toward Amanda Bynes. We were the exact same age and she was somehow cast on All That while I was still stuck living as a suburban third grader.
Mara Wilson definitely fell into this love-hate category. She starred in so many great ’90s movies that are still aired every other weekend on TV: Matilda, Miracle on 34th Street and Mrs. Doubtfire. I mean Matilda?! I can’t even tell you how many hours I wasted trying to move things with my eyes. And then as quickly as Mara Wilson entered my life, she was gone.
But now, she’s back and she might be normal. She graduated from NYU in 2009 and just this month launched a blog! I shouldn’t be shocked. Of course we’re all bloggers: Matilda, Mara Wilson and me.

Over the past year, I’ve shared over 50 lessons that I’ve learned in my single life to remind you that being single is more than a table for one (even when you’re eating a meal portioned for two), or going dateless to you’re cousin’s wedding — it’s a way of life.
Here are my top 10 favorite rules to live by while you’re single:

I’m starting to feel like the dating world is one long episode of “Aaahh! Real Monsters.” It’s big, bad, scary and always a little animated. If you didn’t read my last online dating horror story, let me give you the Sparknotes version.
Long story short, my first date was provided by a lesser-known dating website that directed me to a part-time grad student-slash-full-time a**hole. With my sparkling track record (or lack thereof), shouldn’t I just throw the towel in? No. Remember, I have Louise mentality. I’m not going to give up on love.
At the beginning of the semester, I developed a crush on a cute, quiet guy that worked in the same office that I did. He was the strong, silent type – he didn’t say much but I definitely noticed him. After some gentle chiding from my friends and coworkers, I flirted with him. Hard. It seemed like he liked it, though! He’d remember little things that I brought up in conversation and paid really close attention to everything I did. It was super flattering. I hadn’t had the butterflies about a guy in a really long time, and it felt good to have them back. I had an entire swarm in my stomach when he invited me and another pal to his birthday party one weekend. Read More »

Looks like Russell Brand has filed for divorce from Katy Perry. A little over a year after they got married in India, it’s shocking to see that Russell is the one pulling the plug on their relationship. Not only was he starry-eyed in love with Katy (and telling everyone who would listen), but he also got the better end of the deal in this marriage.
Katy, we understand breakups are tough. Really, we do. But in this scenario you’re actually winning. Don’t believe us? Just look at the fact that you’re super talented, totally hot and rich as get out. And Russell…well…he kinda looks like a crazy person. Read More »
