Kids Movies I’m Embarrassed to Want to See

The brand new kids movie Hugo is doing extremely well in theaters. EXTREMELY WELL. How many kids are there in this world who want to see that movie? Maybe some adults are going too because they have to take their children. However, I know one demographic that surely is not going to see Hugo or any other kids movies: College Students. We are too prideful and would never want to be seen in a kids theater unless we went drunk with all of our friends.
Recently, a lot of kids movies have come out and although I’m a college student and wouldn’t be caught dead seeing them, I SECRETLY WANT TO. Some of these movies look good and funny, but I’ll never see them because I don’t want to deal with that kind of shame.

I can't tell if this is poorly written sarcasm or if it's actually serious…
If you want to see the movie, see it. If you don't want the "shame" of seeing a kids movie in theaters, um, there's such a thing as DVD's. Kids' movies are awesome. (example: How To Train Your Dragon!)

The Puss in Boots movie looks adorable. I pretty much only go to the movies on Christmas Day (kind of a family tradition since we always live so far from family, and it's just the three of us), so I watch new movies on Netflix.
Puss in Boots is going to the top of the queue when it comes out(:

Read her other articles and you'll discover which of the two it is. (Hint: she's serious.)
I have to agree though – if you want to see a movie, just see it. Shoot, I went and saw Despicable Me on a first day with a sailor once. Didn't hurt my pride or his.

Get over yourself. Im a college student and Ive seen half of these in theaters. Despicable me, tangled, gnomeo and Juliet, and puss in boots are all great movies. No one would be judging you for seeing them because guess what, no one cares. Your embarrassment about wanting to see these movies is just sad.

Last year my whole floor watched tangled together. My RA is now totally obsessed with the movie and sings the songs all the time.

I can tell you that you aren't missing out on College Road Trip. It's ridiculous terrible in a "how is this even a movie?" kind of way. That being said, like another commenter said, you may just be joking with this article, but if you're not, there's no shame is seeing a good kids movie. That's especially true if you just watch it once it's on DVD. I admit, there might be some kids movies that I'd somewhat embarrassed to be seen at, but that's what Netflix is for, right?
You kind of make it sound like all kids movies are embarrassing (and maybe that's not your intention), but, come on, plenty of kids movies are enjoyable for all. Hugo is currently at 93 percent fresh at Rotten Tomatoes and the Muppets is at 98 percent. Toy Story 3, considered a kids movie, has only three rotten reviews out of 252. Several of your picks would probably fall into this category. I thought Despicable Me was really cute, and it has 81 percent fresh. Tangled was lovely as well, and it's even higher at 89 percent fresh.
So, next time you want to go see a kids movie, I say do it. I doubt you'll incur much judgment for it. Sometimes a kids movie is just what a person needs to put them in a good mood, and kids movie can actually be really good, quality films. Plus, if it really is kind of an embarrassing pick, there's always Netflix.

Go see Tangled! I didn't see The Princess and the Frog, but Tangled definitely restored my faith in Disney.
