The Craziest Eyeshadow You’ve Ever Seen

I feel bad for the male gender 90% of the time. Mostly because I see them as the lesser sex..but hey don’t we all? Another reason I feel bad for them is that they don’t get to use make-up. That’s not an airtight statement, but for the most part foundations, shadows and lip shades are left for us girls. But with this great gift of makeup comes great responsibility that some have chosen to abuse.
From the overly excessive smokey eye to some downright weird eyelash extensions, sometimes eye makeup can go way too far. Below are prime examples of those faux-pas…

Wow. You really think any of these are ugly? Just because a certain application of eyeshadow isn't one you would wear every day doesn't mean it's ugly. Those leopard spots are some of the best I've seen, and I'm a makeup artist. Way to crush imagination and creativity, great message you're sending out there. "Don't try new things! Don't ever do runway looks! It's hideous and runway looks are SO faux-pas!!!" Give me a freaking break.

yeah. this article was pretty rude. it seems like college candy keeps getting bad writers. Just a bunch of jealous, dramatic, RUDE teenagers to vent online and call them articles

This is a stupid gallery. It's like half of them are obviously for photography purposes, a few are for costumes and another few look like special occasions that call for a ridiculous amount of makeup such as ballroom competitions or theater purposes ("Rhinestones and way too much blush" looks like ballroom dance make-up to me because that's the kind of crap we have to put on our face).

I completely agree with the other comments, and can't believe I even look at College Candy anymore when they put out crap like this. This slideshow is full of childish and snotty insults toward looks that were clearly done for artistic effect, a costume, a professional photoshoot, etc. and were not meant to be worn in an everyday situation except MAYBE one or two (#14,15?). Stuff like this should not make it past the editor. Or if it does, it's time for a new editor. Is there even an editor to begin with?! If not, get on that.

Is this the proper channel to resign? If so, it's official. I'm stepping down and letting the site be run by these sex-crazed, rude teens!

Here's the thing- everyone is entitled to their own opinion. So if madeleine thinks these looks are crazy, she can say so.
The awesome thing about College Candy is, the editor lets you share your own opinion. Real college girls speaking their minds with no filters. It's as real as it gets. So it may not be like your typical magazine but take it for what it is.
I personally think the eye shadow looks aren't suited for every day wear, but it does take a lot of skill to create them. As a make up geek, I can appreciate the artistic effort! Some people view makeup as just something to wear, and other people view it as expression. I see my face as a canvas for many possibilities.

The slideshow is still a little mean/ cruel in my opinion. But Muara is right, the editor is entitled to her opinions but so do the people who posted their own comments. Do we really need to call them sex-crazed rude teens??
