Part of me just wants to sing to the lyrics right now but I will refrain. Partly because I’m not sure I would sound as good on paper, partly because you might hate me by the time I’ve finished. But what better way to spread Christmas cheer than by singing loudly for all to hear?

Confessions of a Cat Lady

This weekend, I almost skipped the birthday party I was throwing for myself. Why? I just happened to adopt a kitten that morning. Before you congratulate me on being an amazing person and giving a homeless cat a good home, know that I already have a one-year-old cat I got free from Craigslist last October.
I’m a 21-year-old college student who should be living in an apartment with my besties and taking tequila shots instead of studying for exams. Instead, I’m a 21-year-old college student who lives alone (take note, killers) with my two cats who both enjoy shot-sized portions of tuna fish.
But who cares? Who cares that sometimes my apartment smells like cat litter and makes me want to puke? Who cares that I have mild cat allergies and probably shouldn’t have TWO cats to aggravate those allergies? It’s all worth it because cats are SO cute and cuddly. Read More »
One Month Challenge: Get Clear Skin, Week 3

Good old Aunt Flow has come to town, so I have a wonderful display of acne. This acne however is not on my face, I had some small break outs but nothing like the usual volcano-like zits and white heads. I have had an increasing number of breakouts on my back, legs and chest these past few days, which is something I am not unfamiliar with, but is just as uncomfortable. Because really, who wants to have a zit on their boob? Or a bunch of black heads on their butt? Or a white head sticking out and rubbing against their bra strap all day? Really, this is just getting ridiculous and not being able to pop these suckers, ones no one will see of course, it shouldn’t matter? No, I with held and didn’t pop one, except accidentally the zit that was rubbed open by my bra strap, but that doesn’t count.
This week has gone a bit more smoothly and not nearly as bumpy as I expected it to have been. I worked very hard at not touching my skin and trying to get more sleep in then I was previously. I did though start reading The Hunger Games and that kept me up late for the past couple nights until I finished all of them. Even with lack of sleep I feel that my skin is becoming softer and smoother. Even though I do have a number of black heads around my hair line due to working out and having a head band, the number of zits is not as much as I would usually experience during my period. I am hoping that not popping and not touching my face helped out a lot with keeping my break outs down to a minimum. Read More »
The Ultimate Christmas Eve Movie Marathon

The holidays can be a stressful time for everyone, especially if you’re forced to spend time with relatives and engage in pointless small talk. Having to tell your Aunt Lucy for the 100th time that you do not have a boyfriend and, yes, you’re okay with it can get a bit tiresome. During the holiday season with my family, after the fifth or sixth Christmas cookie and 73rd glass of eggnog, I’m ready to to just relax and watch a nice Christmas flick. Sometimes all we want to do is just go hide in our rooms and be alone. But sometimes that’s not an option, and the closest we can get to some kind of sanity is sitting everyone down to watch a movie. No talking, no stress.
Everyone has their favorites, and I think I’ve collected some of the greats. Read More »
Turns Out Katy Perry is Huge Diva [Infographic]
I have an extremely complex relationship with Katy Perry. I love her music and I hate her personality. I blast her songs and I mute her interviews. Because as much as I love her catchy tunes, I can’t stand her “how can I use my boobs to my advantage” personality. Like I said, it’s pretty complex. Kind of like her rider that was released earlier this year. Now I know that all celebrity riders are demanding and diva-esque, but there’s something about seeing them in infographic form that make them see that much more ridiculous.

How To Be Friends With Your Ex

Is being friends with your ex even possible? I mean, you’ve seen each other naked many, many times. You’ve opened up to each other about some weird stuff. And you once didn’t know how you could live without him. I’m still pretty much trying to figure out the real answer to that question, but I’d like to think that, yeah, sometimes you can be friends with your ex.
But let me be clear: being friends with your ex is usually really hard and can only be done in certain circumstances. I’ve watched couples try the friend thing, only to end up in this weird hooking up relationship that made both people miserable. Or one of them couldn’t handle it and the jealousy and hurt feelings destroyed any kind of friendship they could ever have. But I’ve also watched couples who totally rock at being friends after they break up – and I’ve even done it myself. So here are some tips on how you can be friends with your ex. Because, let’s face it, they were a big part of your life for a reason – it isn’t always necessary to completely push them away. Read More »
8 Places You Never Want to See People Check in on Foursquare

First, we were given MySpace. It was creepy, but so colorful! Then, the Heavens parted and Facebook shone down and smiled at the world. Before long we were uploading photos and updating our statuses and sharing personal information that no one really needed to know. But our technologically hungry world wasn’t satisfied with just Facebook. So on the seventh day, thou hath created Twitter and a forum-like atmosphere enabled us to tweet about similar topics and make special mentions to our friends and followers.
However, it still wasn’t enough for us to tweet and update the world, so we had to create an eighth day when Foursquare was designed to keep our friends abreast of where we are as soon as we get there.
Here’s the problem with Foursquare, aside from it being downright annoying and taking up too much space on my mini-feed, there are places that you don’t ever want to see someone check in.
Think I’m kidding?
