Styling Tips for Your Naturally Curly Hair
January 5, 2012 12:00 pm Posted in Reality Tuffy Luv g+ page

How many times have you seen a magazine claiming to have “curly hairstyles” inside, only to open it up and find out what they really show are hairstyles for people with straight hair who want to get that curly look. There’s nothing for girls with naturally curly hair who want to flaunt their tresses au naturale. Don’t fret! Curlies, there are so many cute things you can do!!
In this new weekly column, I will search high and low on the internet for the cutest looks, tools and products…and I’ll give you info on how you can DIY at home. Also, if you ever have any issues you want me to tackle in a future post, vent your frustrations in the comments section below!
Here are eight styles I found this week that I can’t wait to try…

so glad to see a column for naturally curly-haired girls. you're so right–so many "curly hair styles" you see are for girls with straight hair. we curly girls have unique hair challenges, too, as curly hair tends to be dryer and more unruly. looking forward to this!

Thank you so much for doing this column! I have naturally curly hair and search everywhere for styles to try! I will definitely be adding this to my list of College Candy columns to read

Ugh! I'm so tired of those "curly hair" styles that are really for waves! I recently blogged about my complex relationship with my hair (http://laurenkcampbell.wordpress.com/2012/01/05/me-and-my-hair/). Fellow curly girls, do you agree?

Good article. Curly hair should be appreciated more by their own wearers. Myself, as a curly man, despise all this anti-curly propaganda that seems to be floating these days, especially in the media. In fact, just today, I posted an article on how hot and sexy curly hair really is.

Glad to see others who share the same sentiment.
All the best.

Most of these styles are a slight variation from keeping your hair down. Are there actually any styles out there for those that can't leave their hair down at work, etc?

Lauren- I was just about to complain that these styles are all for super-curly hair, and wouldn't work so well for my soft, fine, wavy/slightly curly hair. All of the photos show women with very tightly curled hair, so I'm not sure what you are talking about.
