How to Cut and Style Bangs for Naturally Curly Hair

For years, I wanted bangs. I longed for them. I coveted them. I desired them. But the answer from my hairstylist was always the same: NO. So in 2008, I cut them myself. Years later, I have a love-hate relationship with them. I keep cutting ’em, growing ’em in, and cutting them again. But I want to tell you this: curly-head bangs can be HOT.

This week, I’ve gathered photos from across the web to show you how it can be done. Whether you want curly bangs, bangs you have to straighten (which we’re so not used to, since our curls are so naturally gorge!!), or you’re ready to grow them out, here’s the how-to!

Thank you for this! I see too many tragic curly haircuts when they get those weird bang curls down their forehead.

    2. Michelle - College of Idaho says:

I get the feeling that curly-haired ladies hate seeing comments like these, but: damn, I wish I had curly hair.

      1. Rachel says:

I feel the same way. My hair is some weird mix of wavy, curly and straight and I'm always jealous of girls with curly hair who just wake up with that bounce.

    3. Francesca says:

People totally don't understand how tough it is to style curly hair! You either end up looking like a frizz queen or, if you add all that gel, look like a teenager from South Dakota with crunchy curls and awkward straight bangs. These tips are great and will hopefully keep all us curly girls from looking like disasters!

Redken curl bounce ringlet #7 IS THE BEST FLIPPEN STUFF FOR CURLY HAIR!!! i use it all the time. It only about $15 at a solon. I have curls that get frizzy ( like all curly head ppl do. u know who u are) and it helps define my curls and keeps the frizz down! I recomend it to everyone:)

    5. Ellie says:

Ugh I really want bangs but my mom absolutely refuses btw I’ve got curly hair and I wake up like a wreck fear my frizzies rawr D:

I have natural curly hair and it is very difficult for me to style it especially if you do not have the patience for it. It's a pain in the buttocks but I do like the first picture tho =)

I have curly hair but more like #9 or #15. The only problem is I can't grow my hair out long. I don't know what to do if I grow my hair past my chest area the top of my head gets flat and all the curls are only at the bottom. i'm going to get a haircut tomorrow. I want to get bangs but 'm afraid with my hair it might end up looking like a big swirl in the middle of my head like the curls will just go into one blob. My curls are super frizzy you can barely tell I have curls behind all this frizz. Don't know what to do. HELP.

i have naturAl wavy hair and they only curl on the bottom part of my hair(like mdway or something) i dont pu too much hair products on my hair coz it dries my hair.. and another tip brush ur hair only when its wet so when it dries it curls naturally (n on my case, looks really cute) i dont blow dry my hair as well only when really needed…
