In an ideal world, I would wear a Lululemon tank top and yoga pants to the gym, but my typical outfit usually consists of leggings and a sorority t-shirt!

My tip: Wear a GOOD sports bra!
Brienne says:
Fri, 13th Jan 201210:43 am
Always have extra hair elastics! Nothing worse than forgetting it altogether or needing to switch your ponytail to a bun because you're a sweaty mess and not being able to.

Can’t forget a headband to hold back those bangs.

Other than a hair tie and bobby pins to keep my hair up, I always wear a more fitted tank top especially for yoga class. Big shirts can flop and get in your face and nothing messes up your downward facing dog more than a face full of shirt!
Liza says:

a headband! I can't stand when there's hair in my face, plus I love the ones from lululemon.
Katey says:

for me the best look for the gym is just being comfortable which is normally a loose fitting tee or some type of jersey with shorts and a headband to pull my hair back, when your at the the gym its not about looking good its about actually feeling good and getting a decent workout in
Lesley says:

Make sure to wear no show socks! I have seen girls in high socks-not cute.

Since my hair is shorter either a great headband (I love the lucky luon narrow http://shop.lululemon.com/products/category/women… or a simple braid to keep my hair out of my face.

My best gym style tip is to wear the right shoes and clothes for the type of work out you're doing. Cross trainers and a well-fitting tank is perfect for a kickboxing class, while a dry-fit tissue tee and breathable pants are best for yoga. So many options!

If you have very long hair, braid it up! Sometimes putting my waist-length hair into a ponytail will strain my head and I'll end up with a headache. A braid (complete with a thick headband) gives a clean look that will also keep your hair away from the sweat on your body.
Alyssa says:
Fri, 13th Jan 20121:11 pm
Bobby pins, hair ties, pre wrap, or whatever you use to keep your hair up. There's nothing worse than being sweaty and having your hair stick to your face!
Kaitlyn says:
Fri, 13th Jan 20121:16 pm
Wear what you are are comfortable in, the worst thing can be constantly adjusting your top or pants while exercising. Don't be afraid to sweat, that is the point of working out so make sure your clothing is sweat wicking.
Tiffany says:
Fri, 13th Jan 20121:30 pm
Wear a sweat-wicking top and a good comfortable pair of shoes!
Molly S says:

Wear comfortable clothes that stretch for easy movability. Wear your hair up and out of your face.

Jamie says:
Fri, 13th Jan 20122:30 pm
Invest in some decent shoes–not just a pair of sneakers on clearance. Your knees and feet will thank you in the long run.

My best tip for the gym, besides always remembering to wear deodorant, is to wear work out shorts that hold your iPod. When I work out, I love listening to my gym playlist. Let’s be real, nobody wants to work out while holding their iPod! So that’s why the best gym style tip is to buy shorts/capris/tights/pants with an iPod pocket!
Kate says:
Fri, 13th Jan 20122:54 pm
Honestly, it's important to me that my workout jackets and clothes have some sort of pocket. Helpful for keeping cell phone/keys when I go running, as well as any fuel you might need for runs (Gu gels, etc).
Aly says:
Fri, 13th Jan 20123:04 pm
Get some cute shoes with a nice arch. Otherwise your feet will be killing you in the morning (no matter how good you looked.) Also, the best outfit is a breathable tank top or sports bra and some yoga pants.
Samantha says:

Definitely headbands to keep those stray hairs out of the way that the pony tail holders can’t contain and clothes with breatheable fabric!
Angelee N. says:

Having a comfortable outfit! There is no point in trying to look cute at the gym if you can't even work out effectively. Stick to comfy fabrics and looser clothes to look fabulous as well as get your workout in successfully!

Niki says:

Definitely gym shorts and a cute tank with a colored sports bra! And, you can't go wrong with a cute pair of gym shoes that are colorful!
Vicki says:
Fri, 13th Jan 20123:48 pm
When I know that I'm going to do a long run on the treadmill, I make sure that I'm wearing comfortable clothes that fit properly. Nothing can ruin a six mile run more than shorts that are too loose. Also, I always use bobby pins to keep stray hairs out of my face.
Michelle says:

The best fashion tip for the gym: neon! I love my neon Nike sneaks and they pair perfectly with gray or black lulu leggings (I prefer Capri cuts so I don’t get too hot) then a lulu tank with built in sports bra and a loose t-shirt topped off with one of my neon lulu headbands because, as everyone knows, there’s nothing worse than having to keep pushing your side bangs out of your face! Add in a cute, reusable water bottle to be Eco-friendly, too
Julia H. says:

hoak1218 says:
Fri, 13th Jan 20124:28 pm
Wear clothes that actually fit you, nothing baggy. Lay off the makeup. No normal person ever wears make up or jewelry to work out in, you will just look foolish, high maintenance and everyone can tell you are only there for looks. ALSO, keep your hair up…this isn't a pageant.
Sandy says:
Fri, 13th Jan 20124:31 pm
A good headband is a necessity, bangles in the face in a No-No. You need to look good so all those sexy gym rats will notice you, but not overly obvious. I go with a yoga pant, a good brightly color sports bra, a fitted tank, and a matching water bottle (don’t hate the matching bottle, its a good conversation piece)
Ally says:
Fri, 13th Jan 20124:33 pm
1st- clothes that fit your body! too tight clothes that you keep pulling up while trying to run on a treadmill turns into an awkward mess-lululemon adjustable waistband leggings are flattering, and with a large array of sizes (not just small, medium, and large)-fit well on many body shapes and sizes.
2nd- choose fun colors to brighten up your mood during work outs, bright nike shorts are always a staple, target also has a large selection of cheaper, fun colored work out gear
3rd-stay away from the temptation to wear face make up- although you may look cute walking in, no one looks good with face make up dripping off of them. If you absolutely CANNOT leave the house in make up, keep it simple- wear a little waterproof mascara and tinted Chapstick
Brooke says:

Maggie says:

I wear really bright clothing to make me more happy while I run. Another great tip is to put on running shoes first: otherwise your clothes can feel like pajamas and encourage you to just lounge on the couch instead….

When you're dressed in frumpy sweats, you don't really see your body the way you would in a pair of spandex. I like to wear form-fitting workout clothes because it allows me to have more awareness of my body- and show off the results of all my hard work!
Emily says:
Fri, 13th Jan 20125:07 pm
Work hard and sweat it out! Make sure not to wear too little or too many layers of clothing. Nobody wants to see your flab, or abs, while they are trying to focus on their bodies.
Amanda says:

Rock that confidence no matter what size you wear or want to wear. Music, no makeup, and the au natural smile goes a longggg way especially if your future man is in the room, he will see you for what you are and not for what you are trying to be!

I say if you make a bit of effort to look good, you will feel a lot better about yourself and want to stay in the gym longer to show off your workout gear!
Ang says:
Fri, 13th Jan 20125:51 pm
Don't wear make up! it's a horrible idea and it will only clog your pores since you'll (hopefully) be sweating! Wear comfy clothes that make you feel good too!

When I work out there are three basic appearance rules:
1. Wear colors that don't show sweat, ie neon anyone?
2. Keep your hair back, if that means a headband go for it, nothing is grosser than wispy stuck to your face fly aways.
3. Keep it classy. Either spandex shorts OR just a sports bra, look hot and look like you go to an overly pretentious college.
kristen says:

Men- Always remember to grunt loudly as you lift those weights so everyone in the gym knows you're the man.Seriosuly though,I doubt any girl is turned on by your loud grunts as you bench 1 45 on each side like your super strong.Knock it off.

The main idea – cute and functional! Compression pants/capris so all that stuff you're trying to get rid of isn't jiggling everywhere, and a cute (but functional) headband to keep flyaways and frizz out of your face. Oh, and a good sports bra!
Sarah says:
Fri, 13th Jan 20129:31 pm

You may think you need a racer back or a short sleeved shirt to work out, but my favorite is my long sleeved black Nike top that WICKS everything. It's like a built-in towel for my face and the black is a very slimming color. Goes great with black leggings! Always go for thicker fabric, it's the most sweat-wicking. Hope everyone's January resolutions are going well. I've just added another: get more sleep!!

Wear clothes that YOU feel comfortable in and flatter your current figure – not the one you're hoping to achieve – will make all the difference. It may sound shallow, but if I feel like I look dumpy, I don't want to go to the gym. Lululemon's Groove Pants and Wunder Under leggings are my go-to work out pants, and they're so comfy and flattering!

When it comes to gym clothes, I stick to one simple rule. Balance the tight and loose clothing. If you are wearing compression bike shorts go with a light t-shirt. If you are wearing a sports bra-tank, wear some gym shorts. You will look cute by accenting either your top or lower half, and the trying-too-hard look will be out of the question. Always get your hair up off your neck. A high ponytail and a colorful headband is the way to go. The guys at the gym will have something to smile about, while you leave half to the imagination. A good way to keep up the "effortless" laid-back-mystery-girl look!

I love to wear neon colors when I work out. They make me feel energized! And sometimes when I go to the gym with a friend we'll wear old school work out clothes, like tube socks and sweatbands haha

I love a long fitted tank and black boot cut leggings for the gym. Working out is not an excuse to dress sloppy. And this outfit is perfect because everything stays covered and it doesn't get in the way like many baggy clothes do. I definitely love to wear an outfit that I don't have to think about interfering with my workout!

Compression pants are a great idea because they give you a sleeker look which gives you extra confidence to step inside the gym and get the body you want! This way, you don't have to worry about how you look while exercising.

It's the gym! Wear something you're comfortable sweating in, but also feel comfortable being seen by attractive guys in. Solution to that? Lululemon. Basically wear anything they have for whatever activity you gym it up for! I love the simple crop leggings and any fitted tank!

I like to make sure I'm comfortable so running shorts, a v-neck t-shirt, and a colorful sports bra is my go to gym outfit. To keep my bangs out of the way, I put my hair in a high pony tale and twist them to the side and bobby pin them. It's a a cute hairstyle that I wear straight from class to the gym!

wearing spandex pants or shorts with a loose fitting t-shirt gives the great and comfortable compression on the bottom half and a shirt that lets you move easily in all directions! and of course, the best work out style tip is to wear anything made by lululemon

Always wear something you are comfortable in and FITS your body. I see too many women wearing too-small clothing. Listen, you're at the gym. If you have to wear an XL, it's okay. If someone takes the time to judge you for your size then they are the ones with the issue! If your shorts ride up, try a different style. If your shirt shows a little more than you're comfortable with, wear something else!
However, looking cute at the gym isn't all about clothing. There's nothing worse than looking down and seeing flaky, dry legs, or even worse, hairy ones! Shave and use lotion. Don't put on a ton of make up, it's just going to run. And it drives me CRAZY when I see women who wear their hair down, on the treadmill, constantly pushing it out of your face.
Most of all, the gym is about FEELING good. Not just looking good.

When I feel like putting a little bit of effort into my gym outfit, I wear my pink racerback top and navy blue capris with a pink stripe down the sides. It even matches my the pink in my running shoes! It just gives me a little bit more confidence in my appearance and gives me a little kick in my stride!

Make sure you clothes stay in place even with lots of body movements! Also finding a cute tennis/running shoe that fits correctly will help a ton for comfort and keeping you from feeling frumpy! Preferably no makeup but if you always need a little something wear your favorite waterproof mascara and a dab of lib gloss. All of this will give you that extra boost of confidence to help you get through your workout!

I think the most important aspect of workout style is fit. Workout clothing should be tight, but not binding or constricting. Too-tight clothing creates bulges, which nobody wants to see! As a taller girl, finding workout clothes that fit properly can be difficult. Many pants are either too short or too wide, which is why I love Lululemon's yoga pants… they are the only brand that fit me perfectly!

My gym style tip? Knee length leggings! They don't bunch up if you're on a cycle, and they aren't so long they get in the way of your shoes. Also – for those short haired ladies (I have a pixie cut) Wide cloth headbands keep hair out of the face SO well – and they come in bright colors! (bright shoelaces are also fun!)

For an active, fresh look, choose comfortable workout clothing in fun colors and with feminine details! I'm thinking strappy sports bras, loose tanks, and fitted shorts, crops, or pants. It's better to keep the colors to the tops and mix and match with more neutral bottoms, so that the color is more apparent to you and therefore more motivating. Cute sweatbands and headbands abound, and if you must wear makeup, keep it waterproof and to a minimum!

Make sure you look presentable- ask yourself "If I was someone else looking at her from across the treadmill aisles… would I be jealous?" Keep them boobies in place girls! No low cut shirts… for some reasons I find it hard to believe that others think breasts spilling out during burpees are attractive.

I love to wear a bro tank with nike shorts (I call them norts because I abbreviate everything). Or I wear yoga pants (I live in the Lululemon astro pants in extra tall) with a bright shirt. What's really important is color and cheer because, lets face it, the gym can be kinda grim sometimes! I'm always wearing a neon headband or a bow in my hair.

In the colder seasons, I love to wear yoga pants with a tight fitting shirt. In the warmer seasons, I prefer to wear tight fitting capris or shorts, paired with a t shirt or tank top. I also like neon colors when it is warm! I don't do much for my hair; just a simple pony tail or bun. My feet feel the most comfortable in Converse Chucks, because they allow my feet to be flat on the ground while doing squats and lunges. I wear cute leather gloves to keep the calluses at bay as well.
