Sarah Jessica Parker will forever be a fashion icon because of Sex and the City, and I’m totally okay with that. I love that SJP has a quirkier sense of style than a lot of older actresses tend to. She’s not afraid to take risks, and while sometimes they don’t pay off, most of the time she ends up rocking visually captivating and stylish looks.

I think blue is one of the few colors where you can get away with combining two different shades without looking like a total disaster. The teal and the navy complement each other very well, creating a rich, textured look. And both pieces are super versatile. I’m especially obsessed with navy dresses because they are generally professional enough for the office but still chic enough for the bar. A bright red bag adds an interesting twist, while the brown pumps are a neutral addition. Toss on some of your favorite costume jewelry to add a more eccentric flair. I love that this is a little offbeat without being excessively gauche and over-the-top. It can be a delicate balance, but SJP has mastered it with this look.
