Is Rihanna Looking for Love in a Hopeless Place?

Rumor has it that Chris Brown is the ‘shocking’ guest to appear on Rihanna’s ‘Birthday Cake’ track. Is this for real? That shit cray. The fact that this is even circulating is so disappointing. Surely a woman talented enough to be one of the top-selling artists in the world at 24 is smarter than this? I understand that people make mistakes (or totally f*ck up in Brown’s case), and I do believe it is possible for them to earn the privilege of a second chance. But there is a certain responsibility Rihanna has (whether fair or not) that comes with being a influential pop icon. For an artist whose success is founded on songs of female empowerment, this sends a pretty mixed message. There is nothing ‘hard’ about being in a physically abusive relationship. And it’s not like Chris Brown has been working to change his ‘I’m quite possibly the biggest douche in the world’ image. No one should think Chris is a ‘new man’ after the Grammy twitter fiasco.

I had hoped the rumors about Rihanna and Chris secretly hooking up for the past year were just tabloid attempts to sell covers, but TMZ recently reported that Chris attended Rihanna’s birthday party.  Disgusting. Rihanna, you’re better than this. Chris Brown is not  your soul-mate. Even if you don’t care about how your fans will react, how the media will react and how it will completely shatter your image, please respect yourself enough to be with someone who respects you. Allowing him to profit off of what will probably be a top selling album only continues this parasitic relationship. Find a love that’s not so hopeless.

    Female empowerment? Maybe forgiving Chris Brown and giving him another chance IS empowering. Making her own decisions based on time, reflection, and the changes (if any) she has seen in him is her choice. She doesn't owe ANYONE a reason or explaination.

    Abuse is a horrible thing, without question! I hope that she is in a place where she is comfortable, happy, and at peace with the person she has chosen to spend time with. We are not in a position to know how or why she came to the conclusion to have him back in her life in any capacity. It would be very UN- empowering to make your decisions based on what society thinks you should do.

    It is good to see them as friends but nothing more and nothing less is my though. These two
    are not good for each other and we all have seen what can happen with young love perhaps at a later time and date. I can not see Rihanna working so hard to build herself back up after what happen between the
    two i do not feel that as a fan i should pass judgement on either one of them. They are still young and still learning how to deal with the up and downs of life in the Entertainment Industry. All of us should be given the chance to make mistakes and learn from them mistakes. But as far as her workinmg with chris i don't get that at all. Why would she risk her Career over something like this in the first place? What make Rihanna feel like she owe Chris something? Or at least that is the way she is acting and to tell the truth Rihanna you do not have nothing to prove to your fans and you do not have nothing to be guilty about you have lost a lot over getting Beat down by Chris and both of you need to Live your lives not Hating on each other but lifting each other up and doing your own thing in your own lane seperately not together right now, perhaps later but just not right now. The only reason people are up in arms is many do not want anything else to happen in either one of their lives that would hurt their young Career Goals.

    I don't think that Rihanna is looking 4 love in a hopeless place, 2 me I think Chris will be the best who will take care of her well coz as human being I understand we make mistakes, learn from our past and reform accordingly, since Rihanna has some emotions for Chris Brown, she should follow her heart desire coz she may not be confortable without Chris Brown.
