Why You Shouldn’t Slam Your Parents on Facebook [Video]

Even though it’s so cathartic to vomit a few passive aggressive phrases on your Facebook status update or TwitPic a shot of the horribly dressed person standing ahead of you in line, don’t ever slam your parents on social media. Because you just might end up with BULLETS in your laptop and accidental YouTube infamy, just like Hannah did.
An upset father made the following video to rant about his daughter’s rebellious activity on Facebook: posting a list of her first world problems and slamming her parents on the social networking platform. Watch it for a reading of her posts and his response as a father, a guy who works in information technology for a living, and a guy with a gun:
And here’s the Hot Button Issues of the week: clearly, this guy is upset with his lazy and entitled 15-year-old daughter, but is that a reason to shoot her laptop and tape it for the world to see? He could have donated that laptop to a less-fortunate family or a local school that needs another piece of equipment; he could have sold the laptop to make up for all the money he’s invested in what’s become her gadgets used solely for social media purposes.
I understand that he’s trying to make an example out of her horribly embarrassing and immature behavior—which he does, in my opinion, up until he gets out of his chair, grabs the video camera and wastes a perfectly upgrade laptop and a good set of bullets on his anger. Because in that moment, he went from the caring father with a daughter who seriously slammed her parents on Facebook to the trigger-happy daddy whose daughter is lucky she wasn’t home while he made this video.
What do you think about this father’s punishment for a daughter who slammed her parents on Facebook? Was it a little immature himself, or is it right on target?

NICE DAD! I seriously love this guy. I hate when my peers does not understand that they are really lucky and does not appreciate a new laptop or the easy work they have to do at home.
My friend always complains that she does not have any money, and I know that my parents give me a lot more than hers could ever give. But I would not pay for her, when I saw that she just got a new Samsung Galaxy s2.
But it is ok to complain, although some people have real problems, it is ok to hate the fact that you have no more money for food because you spend it all on that perfect dress but do not blame others and do not put your self pitty on facebook!

I find it awfully funny that I post a comment and it disappears the next day. Should you ever write an article about freedom of speech and people who violate it, I will probably have the biggest laugh of my life.

I'm not sure what you posted, but in Canada, we have a thing called hate speech laws. If your freedom of speech violates the rights of others, then you are not allowed to exercise it.

WAY TO GO DAD! Seriously, this guy is a legend. I wouldn't even consider that he would do anything to his daughter (as the article implied). He seemed very controlled and knew how to get through to his daughter – through internet access and her pocket. I hate it when people disrespect their parents via any public internet site where they either think their parents will not see or their parents actually will not see. These people spent all of your life raising you, caring for you when you are sick and providing you with anything you need (and in most cases what you want) and you moan about about making coffee?! Ugh. This is a serious case of first world problems.

Didn't hate on anyone. CC has a habit of getting rid of comments they don't agree with, even if everything said in the comment is kosher.
What I said was that it was ridiculous for the following statement to make it in to the article: "he went from the caring father with a daughter who seriously slammed her parents on Facebook to the trigger-happy daddy whose daughter is lucky she wasn’t home while he made this video." because it seemed to be implying that this guy was going to shoot his daughter which is ridiculous. i then went on to point out that she is no worse for the wear and their relationship is just fine. I also said that teenagers seem to have this mentality that they are owed something when they aren't and I think the way he handled his daughter's stunt was great for his particular situation. Obviously that wasn't word for word what I said but we'll never know because CC is full of censorship.

And now they're trying to review all of my comments for one of my e-mail addresses before they approve them. -lol-

I questioned why she would include a line like, he went from the caring father with a daughter who seriously slammed her parents on Facebook to the trigger-happy daddy whose daughter is lucky she wasn’t home while he made this video" because it was completely ridiculous to imply the dad was going to shoot/hurt his daughter. I also said that teens these days feel entitled to things and this dad made a great choice for the situation he was in. I may have said more or less but I (obviously) can't remember exactly what was said.
I just think it's ridiculous to be censored like this. I didn't say anything offensive or mean, just voiced my opinion. Which the writers are all about unless it's someone questioning their writing.
