What It Is: Clarins Instant Light Blush in Vitamin Pink

Why This Should Be in Your Bag:

As part of Clarins Spring launch, they’ve introduced a new liquid blush formula to their Instant Light line. Now, we all know I’m a huge fan of the Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors, so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this blush!

Clarins says “Fluid-cream formula glides on with a sponge to deliver natural-looking, luminous colour. Plant-based minerals sculpt, smooth and colour cheeks in three light-reflecting shades.” Today, I’ve got one of those shades to take for a test-run, Vitamin Pink.

How To Use It:

Clarins suggests that “with the handy foam tip, apply product to the tops of cheeks. With the fingertips, gently dab over the cheek, then smooth out towards the temples to blend in and sculpt as desired. This seems intuitive and fairly no-brainer.

Vitamin Pink is definitely a traditional blush shade, as is Coral Tonic, another shade in the line. However, the last shade, Brown Fizz seems quite dark and could probably be used as a contour color!

CC Rating: A-

Overall, I really like this liquid blush. It’s extremely easy to use and gives you a natural, sheer flush, making application a cinch. Vitamin Pink is your standard blue-based pink with fine silver shimmer, so it’s not exactly the most unique shade in the world, but I still like it. I would be interested to test out Coral Tonic and see if that shade provides a bit more diversity. I would have loved to see a wider shade range, but perhaps they want to launch with 3 and expand based how well they do.

Despite giving a lovely flush, I worry about the versatility of Clarins Instant Light Blush for ladies with skin darker than mine. I’m very pale, and while this product is perfect for me, I could see women of darker skin tones having a lot of trouble getting it to show up!

For me, this is everything I wanted Benefit Posietint to be! It’s lightweight, long-lasting and best of all, natural looking. You can pick up the new Instant Light Blushes on the Clarins website for $28.
