Would You Wear These “Slutty” Prom Dresses?
March 30, 2012 6:00 pm Posted in Fashion, Galleries, Style Garnet Henderson g+ page

Ah, kids these days. Apparently, high schools across the country are setting strict dress codes for dances because girls are choosing dresses that are too “sexy.” Naturally, we had to do some investigation into this subject. We combed the internet, looking at the most risque prom dresses out there. After careful analysis, we’ve come to a conclusion. These dresses aren’t sexy. They’re just ugly.

Garnet is a student at Columbia University in New York City. She is “that person” who starts dancing at a party when everyone else is standing around, and if there were a Facebook stalking Olympics, she would be a gold medalist. She also loves cheesy 90s music, and almost died of happiness when Vanilla Ice retweeted her. Once. Follow her on Twitter @garnethenderson.

I can see the idea in some of these dresses. I don't think I have the figure for most of these dresses.
I am kind of short, and would never wear a sequinned purple dress with slit. But I cannot help thinking of Angelina Jolies black dress, that was classy and sexy at the same time.
Most of these dresses are just a bit more crazy than what I would wear

Some of these are obviously inappropriate but others are really not something I would consider slutty. For example the v neck one. What makes that slutty? Cleavage? Please. People can be so dramatic.

College and Fashion both may be considered as two sides of a coin. Without fashionable clothing, now-a days, no one wants to go to the college. Now it's a time to be fashionable and it's the passion of all teen ager college going students.

I would definitly wear some of these… However, most of them are very tasteless and have no class.

My prom dress looked almost identical to number 23… low cut with a high slit and black sequins. Guess I´m a big ole whore. Nothing ugly or slutty about numbers 17 and 24 either. By age 16 I had a grown woman´s body, why should I dress like a little girl?

Because at 16 you ARE STILL A GIRL! If women don't want to be treated like whores they shouldn't dress like whores!

When I was in high school we had a very strict dress code for formal occasions, end of school "prom" included. Anyone wearing anything too revealing would not be allowed entry & their ticket forfeited. I agree with the code. Young women will have plenty of time during their 20s to dress like prostitutes so school events are most definitely NOT the time to show off your tits & arse!

Most of these dresses are indeed over the top and cheap looking but the numbers I mentioned are by no means whorish. Sexy? Yes. Provocative? Perhaps. I see nothing wrong with 16 and 17 year old wearing them.

First and foremost, quality is important because it makes wearing clothes a more enjoyable experience. Clothes that are well made feel better, and simply knowing that one’s clothes are of a high quality can make someone more confident.
