It just makes me sad to see that our society has become striving everything to perfection. I think by not photoshopping it gives more readers the comfort that celebrities aren't perfect and it gives a more down to earth look at these people.

I am not against retouching, lighting or contouring but the completly erasing cellulite and wrinkles and shrinking of waists/body parts is crazy! http://onestilettoatatime.blogspot.com

All of these women are beautiful before photo-shop and many looked better before photo-shop. There were some pictures that were altered so much using the photo-shop that I wouldn't have been able to tell who the person was if I was only looking at that picture. I enjoyed seeing the picture of George Clooney pre-photo-shop. He actually looks his age and still handsome. Our society has become extremely obsessive over our looks. I'm having a difficult time with the aging process, but it is what it is.

#32 looked so cute with freckles. It's a shame they erased them.

so who benefits from the photo shopped photos?
What you see is not what it really is. It's selling a lie. What? Think we can't handle the truth? In reality, we would rather have the truth than the lies that a photo shopped photo tell. Get real. It's what everyone wants.

I’m not sure exactly why but this weblog is loading extremely slow for me. Is anyone else having this problem or is it a problem on my end? I’ll check back later and see if the problem
still exists.

31 looks like a Sim. Or a Barbie Doll. It's creepy.
45 looks so cute without Photoshop! Its hard to believe they changed her that much. Some of these look so little like their models, its a wonder they hired them in the first place.
I'm for Photoshop for minor touchups, like adjusting levels or contrast. I am against it when it creates such unrealistic images and role models.

Firstly let me say that this is what I do for a living, I Photoshop images for models and photographers. some of the examples you have here are pretty poor retouch jobs I admit but, that doesn't mean that the process should be stopped. Image editing, whether for stills or movies has been around as long as the medium has existed. Admittedly it's far more sophisticated now and that allows for a level of deceit that previously could not have existed. That however, is not the problem. There's noting wrong with creating an image that is removed from the reality of the person or situation, in fact, as a species, we crave it. Alternate reality, fantasy, role models and more are things we look for in what are for the most part, mundane lives. The problem if there is one, is the inability of far too many people to actively separate fiction from fact. The causes of this are far too complex and numerous for this post but, rest assured, Photoshopping images is not the evil here…

There's an enormous difference between a fictional text and what is considered, accurately or less so, to be journalism of real people.
How your art skills are applied is irrelevant, I understand, but trying to blame your audience at large is just as irresponsible.

I have to say this site is not set up well. I have tried to view this page twice today and both times there where two different glitches so I couldnt see the images. And I used two different computers.
