Ah, the wonderful world of Pinterest. A magical social networking site that intrigues you to bake numerous desserts, workout like a fiend, plan your entire wedding, try a new braid in your hair, go “awww!” over adorable pictures of puppies in clothes, and one of my favorites, complete DIY crafts. Pinterest is fantastic for bloggers, bored people at work, and most importantly: college girls. Though I can’t help but pin almost everything that involves crafts or clothes, I’m often disappointed after clicking the link and realizing those adorable dip-dyed shorts are $75, or that awesome craft needs $45 worth of supplies. For some spring projects and looks at an affordable price, peek at some pinteresting things below!
Reinventing Your Wardrobe
For a trendy spring look, refresh some of those old t-shirts by creating a fitted tank. Simply cut as seen below and tie the other side resulting in an incredibly adorable racer-back tank. Virtually costs nothing, just a tee!
Hair Trends
No need to invest in the newest, hottest curling iron from Sephora this spring! Give your hair and wallet a break by snipping off the tip of an old sock to create the sock bun.
Organization
As your summer break consists of internships, part-time jobs and bonfires with the girls, staying organized with plans is clutch. A small price of $2 will purchase some post it notes and tape to create a colorful, decorative organizer.
Gifts/DIY Projects
Need a gift for Mother’s Day or the girls? Pinterest is loaded with ideas. A major trend is the magnetic makeup board! Girly, decorative, and perfect for stashing your makeup in a clutter-free zone.
Food
Fun, festive, and affordable. For any dinner party, BBQ, girl’s night, there is a recipe. Poor Girl Eats Well is a great site for cheap recipes and all are found Pinterest! Want an easy appetizer? Take Pillsbury crescent rolls, pepperoni and half of a cheese stick to create amazing roll ups for less than $8!
Pinterest is perfect for everything! Stay true to your budget-stylista roots and make this spring a season of saving!
