This sounds so stupid, but I always get lipgloss all over my boyfriend. What can I wear this summer, so I can kiss him but still look cute?

Dear GlossGirl,

Not stupid at all! Tuffy Luv approves of kissing. Here we go:

First of all: longwear lipstick. Yes? It’s super cute, and very popular this season. Aunt Tuffy prefers her lips to be full of MAC (mmmm Pro Longwear Lipcreme), but there are lots of awesome drugstore alternatives, too. For examps, Wet N Wild Mega Last Lip Color or Maybelline SuperStay 14-Hour Lipstick are great alternatives. There’s a ton of ‘em, so I’m sure you’ll find something you like that won’t kiss off.

Another alternative: lip stains! Cover Girl makes one. Revlon makes one. Tarte makes one. You get the idea. These are good, because they actually stay on. The only downside is the dryness; lots of people use these with a lipbalm, which will get on your guy. Also, Aunt Me once had a really gross allergic reaction to the Josie Maran one [Magic Marker Argan Oil something or other]. So, just sayin’…

Another alternative is lip liner. They’re a little annoying and prissy to put on, but they look pretty nice and have good staying power. Almost any beauty line makes these, so experiment until you find your favorite. A downside of drugstore options is a limited color palette, so you may have to splurge to get the color you want!

But you super love gloss, no? So let’s get to that. Believe it or not, they’re now advertising glosses that don’t come off. I don’t know if they actually work or if any of these are good, but here’s what I found:

MAC – Prowear Longwear Lipglass
