CC Beauty Live: Self Tanners

Even though it’s not officially summer, it sure feels like it. The sun is out, and all I want to do is be poolside. I know we all love to go out in the sun. I’ve said it many times before, and I’ll say it again: you’ve got to practice safe sun. Seriously. I wear sunscreen everyday on my face and make sure to wear at least SPF 15 on my body when I’m outside for extended periods of time. Now, I’ll admit there are instances where I’ve skipped it or even *gasp* put on tanning oil. Yeah I like to get bronzed too. But it’s not safe and when you have to get moles cut out of your skin at the dermatologist, you tend to learn your lesson.

That being said, self tanners can be your best friend during the summer months! Sure in the past self tanners have been notorious for their distinct smells and splotchiness, but the formulas have improved and continue to do so. I’m not a fan of spray tans. I got one once and will never do it again because it didn’t react well with my skin tone. But at home self tanners and gradual self tanners are where it’s at! Watch below for my favorite self tanners of the season and some tips on application…

On my face: MAC Prep + Prime, MAC Studiofix powder, NARS Multiple in Orgasm, Lancome Doll Lashes

On my nails: nada

In my hair: Amika Oil Treatment, Homemade Surf Spray (try it!), pulled into a sock bun (tutorial coming soon!)

I am actually quite interested in seeing which tanner fades the best. The smell they have dealt with etc but what I cannot stand is how some tanners fade like patchwork and you end up looking dirty and splodgy no matter how hard you exfoliate.

Cynthia Jean – Paris, every time I come here to check your latest post I’m alawys blown away at how crisp and clean all of your photos look. It’s hard for me to pick a favorite because they’re ALL great shots. Keep up the good work. I definitely look to do a shoot with you in the future.
