Confession: I Watched Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen This Weekend

Not because I was bored, not because there was nothing else on television, not because I had a nervous breakdown about being a post-grad, but because I wanted to. That’s right. My name is Caitlin Corsetti, and I watched Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen because I felt like it. It’s a terrible movie starring Lindsay Lohan and Megan Fox. The plot is stupid, the acting is awful, the outfits are heinous, the soundtrack is a disaster. There is just nothing redeeming about this movie.

So I was thinking about why I put myself through an hour and twenty-nine minute train wreck. I wasn’t coming up with anything great, and then it hit me like Lindsay Lohan hit that truck. I wanted Lindsay to succeed. This movie was kind of her last innocent hurrah right before she fell off the deep end. Mean Girls came out in the same year, which was LiLo’s greatest role other than The Parent Trap. And then she just took a nose dive. While I love Georgia Rule, she was just as big of a mess in real life as her character.

Now that Lindsay is kind of on the up and up and trying to stay out of trouble, I really do want her to succeed in life. I want her to be the great actress that she was on track to become. She’s currently filming Liz & Dick (a Lifetime original) where she plays Elizabeth Taylor. Despite it being a Lifetime movie, Elizabeth Taylor is a huge role to fill. That woman was an icon, and it’s an honor to play her. I’m really hoping that Lindsay doesn’t screw it up.

That’s why I watch Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen on Friday. I just want our favorite Hollywood hot mess to keep her life together! Let Amanda Bynes take the lead in Hollywood Starlets Gone Wild.

Caitlin is a graduate of the University of Alabama who has an obsession with cupcakes, coffee, and Harry Potter. She always has random fun facts on reserve and aspires to be a professional blogger, social media bug, and/or James Franco’s assistant. Follow her fabulous life @caitlincorsetti. You’re welcome!

    Caitlin,

It's weird but I felt exactly the same way. Parent Trap was a smart and funny reboot, Freaky Friday was fun, and then when Mean Girls came out I felt that Lindsay Lohan had arrived. That she would be the next 'it' girl, that she would be starring in Snow White and the Huntsman instead of Kristen Stewart. But it wasn't meant to be.

I think you can just she how talented she is and how spot on her performance was in Mean Girls, there was so much potential there. Maybe she will have a Drew Barrymore-style revival later in her career.
