What It Is:

BECCA Balearic Love Mineral Blush in Bolero

Why This Should Be in Your Bag:

Blush is a product that can truly transform your face. Whether it be adding a hint of glow with a bronze tone, flush with a pink or natural dimension with a nude, it’s powerful stuff!

As part of their Summer collection, Balearic Love, BECCA has released a new blush shade, Bolero. The formula claims to “impart natural, luminous colour that is ultra-kind to skin.” As for wear time, BECCA says, this “longwearing mineral contains a hint of highlight to lift the complexion, with a delicate formula that never appears cakey or chalky.”

How To Use It:

This powder is quite soft and applies well with any blush brush. As the color can be quite deep and easy to overdo, use a light hand and start with a fine layer of product. It’s much easier to add more than it is to strip away color!

CC Rating: A-

This blush from BECCA is insanely pigmented. Swiping my brush across like I would any other blush picks up SO much product and I really had to adjust my application technique to accommodate. However, this ultimately means that I’ll be using less product per application than with many of my other blushes. I found application went best with a dense brush, but I always had to buff out the extra to make it more natural. Once I found my groove, Bolero gave me a natural, bronzey flush that’s perfect for an average summer day!

The shade Bolero is an interesting one for blush. BECCA describes it as “demi-matte bronze” and I’d say that’s pretty accurate, however, I usually call bronze products Bronzer. I guess that’s beside the fact! Even with my pale skin, I found the shade to be very flattering and didn’t make me look like Snooki with it on my cheeks. I was very afraid of appearing like I suffered a fake-tan accident, but that wasn’t the case at all!

For comparison, MAC blushes are $20 for the same amount of blush as BECCA (0.2oz) and NARS runs for $32 for 0.16oz, so BECCA is pretty much in the middle. I can’t say that this shade is particularly unique, but the quality is amazing and if you’re looking to invest in a great staple blush, BECCA Bolero will fill your bronze needs. You can pick up Bolero blush from BECCA from their website for $32.
