10 Things I Wish I Did This Weekend [The Weekly 10]

Being jobless during the summer leaves me with NOTHING to do. I get bored all week, and then I get excited for the weekend until I realize not having a job means not having money to go out. So while all my friends are headed to the bar or going on a weekend getaway, I’m spending time with my new BFF, Netflix.
I also have a lot of time to think of the things I would rather be doing…things a 22-year-old girl should be doing. I can lay in bed on the weekends when I’m old.

so you are saying you are too poor to cook (though can afford a lunchable), to excercise (uuhm running) or reading a book (come on!). not to worry you but that sounds like you might suffer from depression (or short term memory loss as you forgot what you put in your slideshow when you wrote that introduction).

this was another lame article from you. it's you making excuses as to why you're alone the whole weekend..
..too poor? because unless it's the one month free trial of netflix.. it costs money..
and running, walking, the library, karaoke, free concerts and cooking what's left in your fridge is free…

I'm saying I'm too poor to attend a cooking class. I wouldn't be too poor to cook if I knew how. Also, I don't think my NYC neighborhood, which has had 3 shootings in the past few days AND a home invasion, is the best place go outside and go on a run. The only running I'll be doing in this neighborhood would be running from a mugger. I would feel much safer at a gym. AND when did books get SO expensive?? I went to buy one I've been hearing about, and it was $27.00. $27! To read! So I'm not depressed. I'm just poor.

Just wanted to say about the book thing…ever heard of a library?

Most libraries now rent out e-books so since we know you have a laptop to write and Internet to respond to our comments, why not download the Kindle app on your computer and read for free?! You don’t even have to leave bed for that . . .
Also, might I suggest you run somewhere that’s not your neighborhood? Obviously you’re capable of leaving your apartment

well i dont know where you live and whats available in your area (or at all since i live in germany), but when i want to go running and dont feel safe in my area i take the subway to a nicer area (but my university covers subway fares) or do excercises at home. the dorm room workout from college candy actually is a great help
. when i want to cook something and dont know how i search the internet for recipes (i sure there are websites in english that give you one you would like to try. or just be creative, i came up with my favorite dishes while throwing stuff we still had together on sundays (in germany stores are closed on sundays, so its either ordering or cooking whatever you find).
abou the depression: well for two of my friends who suffer from depression it started like that. they only would see obstacles. for them everything was sucky, they had no escape, everything and everyone was againgst them (even if it jusr rained or something similar meaningless). so you say youre fine, thats great. blogging definitely is a great way to complain! but keep the positive things in mind!
