Avoid Shameful Typos With Ginger [Web Spy]

Despite years of proper grammar pushed on us in school, it’s not always the top priority for our generation, given our preferences to communicating online or by text. Punctuation, proper grammar and capitalization and even spelling aren’t important in these types of conversations, and while that is fine for informal conversation, it’s not a good idea to get too used to typing in shorthand, since it doesn’t reflect too well in the professional world.

To keep you from making too many grammar mistakes, there’s a great program called Ginger that can help! Ginger automatically proofreads your writing as you are typing it. The software checks what you write in web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Safari, as well as offline in Microsoft Office programs and Outlook, and  compatibility with new programs and better Mac functionality is in the works.

While most web browsers do have built-in spell check these days, Ginger takes it a step further by correcting grammar and usage based on the context of the sentence. So, for example if you type something like, “my friends and me want to go their for dinner,” Ginger corrects it to say “my friends and I want to go there for dinner.”  Ginger will alert you if any errors are detected in what you write, and with just one click, it corrects your entire sentence!

I love that I can type at my normal fast speed without having to worry too much about making a mistake — Ginger has got me covered!
