Although Kissing Day is behind us, we still encourage everyone to celebrate! Between the nation’s heatwave and that summer fling, your lips need some TLC. What better way to show them your appreciation than making some homemade lip gloss? All it takes is some easy-to-find ingredients and a few minutes of your time. Ready, set, kiss!

What you’ll need:

  • 1 teaspoon paraffin wax
  • 4 teaspoons coconut oil
  • 4 teaspoons petroleum jelly
  • 4 white or pink (other colors are fine as well) candy melts
  • 1/2 teaspoon oil-based candy flavoring

What to do:

Start by grating the wax into a ziploc freezer bag (found at any grocery store). Next, you want to add your coconut oil, petroleum jelly, candy melts, and flavoring. Heat up a pot of water and place your bag inside the water to allow the ingredients to melt. Massage the bag as to mix everything together.

Once it appears to be ready, snip off a corner of the bag and squeeze the gloss into miniature containers (the makers behind this idea used sterilized bead holders, but mini muffin containers could work just as well!) Put your containers in the fridge to set, and you’ve got yourself a cute gift idea or a personal lip treat! And with how good this craft smells, you’ll almost be disappointed you can’t eat it!

[Thanks to Cheeky Kitchen for the idea!]
